The trial involving rapper Young Thug has been put on an indefinite pause.
According to Washington Examiner, a judge in Fulton County, Georgia, halted proceedings during Young Thug’s high-profile racketeering trial due to potential bias concerns, leading to further delay in an already prolonged legal battle.
Judge Ural Glanville’s decision came after a contentious dispute regarding a private meeting he held with prosecutors, prompting calls for his recusal. This meeting, which took place last month, was labeled "ex parte" due to the exclusion of any defense representatives, raising questions about fairness and judicial integrity.
The situation escalated when Young Thug's lead attorney, Brian Steel, confronted Judge Glanville about the secretive gathering. The judge's inability to address the underlying appropriateness of the meeting led Steel to question whether a mistrial should be declared, sparking further controversy.
