Florida mother Irene Miller was arrested on child endangerment charges after leaving her four kids unsupervised for a nearly weeklong Las Vegas work trip that left her youngest injured.

The Post reported that Miller, a 50-year-old professional photographer from Kissimmee, left home the previous Sunday and planned to return five days later.

While she was gone, her 9-year-old son was hit in the head by a dumbbell that somehow fell on him. One of the children called 911 from the house.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and found all four kids, ages 9, 11, 12, and 14, with no adult present. The injured boy was taken to a hospital, treated, and released. Officials did not detail his injuries.

Investigators reached Miller and learned she had arranged a babysitter only for before- and after-school hours. The sitter was not required to stay overnight.

Kids went days without overnight supervision

That left four school-age children alone through the nights in a Kissimmee home while their mother traveled across the country for work.

Miller told deputies the trip was for work. Her social media showed her appearing to work with a client tied to Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate in Las Vegas.

After the 911 call, deputies contacted the children’s father. He took all four kids to his home.

Miller was booked into Orange County Jail on Friday on child endangerment charges. She was released less than 24 hours later on a $4,000 surety bond. An Orange County Corrections Department representative said her next hearing would be in Osceola County.

Miller did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Neither did a lawyer representing her in the divorce case.

Divorce filing came weeks after battery charge

Court records show the home already carried heavy strain before the Vegas trip.

On Sept. 17, Irene Miller filed a petition in Osceola County court to end her 15-year marriage to Mark Miller, 53.

Less than a month earlier, Mark Miller was charged with criminal battery. Police said he allegedly smacked Irene’s phone out of her hand during a heated discussion outside the children’s school.

A restraining order barred him from coming within 500 feet of Irene Miller. It also stated a court hearing was needed to decide whether he could have contact with their four shared children. Mark Miller pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial.

It was not immediately clear whether the father taking the children after the 911 call conflicted with that order.

Parents born overseas, kids left to manage alone

Irene Miller was born in Russia. Mark Miller was born in Ukraine. They share four children ranging from elementary age to early teens.

The sheriff’s office released details of the 911 response on Monday. By then the children were already with their father, and their mother had already been booked and released.

The Post reached out to Mark Miller and his defense attorney. No response was detailed in the available reporting.

What remains plain is the sequence deputies described: a mother leaves for nearly a week, overnight care is not arranged, a child is hurt by a falling dumbbell, another child dials 911, and officers find no adult in the house.

Child endangerment charges followed. The bond was set at $4,000. The kids are now with their father while the criminal case and the divorce both move through Osceola County courts.

Parents are supposed to keep children safe. A work trip does not erase that duty, and a falling dumbbell in an empty house shows what happens when it is set aside.
