A tragic murder in a wealthy Wisconsin town stirs national attention.
Nikita Casap, 17, allegedly murdered his parents to finance a planned assassination of former President Donald Trump and an intended government overthrow, Daily Mail reported.
Aged 17, Nikita Casap is facing charges for the murder of his mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, and his stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51. The crimes occurred on February 11 in their upscale home in Waukesha, valued at $900,000.
Post-murder, Casap escaped Wisconsin using his parents' vehicle. It was not until February 28 that authorities discovered the bodies, prompted by a welfare check. The same day, during a traffic stop in Kansas, Casap was arrested by police. A federal search of Casap’s devices revealed alarming contents, including extremist neo-Nazi materials and a detailed manifesto. His plans included bomb-making and carrying out terrorist attacks, specifically targeting Donald Trump.
A Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum was found with Casap; the gun matched one recently bought by his stepfather. Following the discoveries, authorities charged him with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, in addition to charges of hiding a corpse and theft.
According to court documents, investigators found that Casap’s killing of his parents seemed aimed at securing financial independence and resources essential for his disturbing proposals. This young man had not only contemplated the murders but had also discussed such intentions with a classmate.
Details unearthed from Casap's phone showed he had been in touch with a man from Russia who was aware of his assassination plot. Moreover, surveillance footage captured Casap nonchalantly referring to his stepfather's body, covered and surrounded by lit candles.
According to court documents, the findings included a "self-described manifesto regarding assassinating the president, making bombs, and terrorist attacks." Toward realizing these schemes in reality, the teenager is now confined with a bond set at $1 million. His legal proceedings continue, with the next court appearance scheduled for May 7.
