Victoria's Secret Model Luciana Curtis Kidnapped With Family, Released After Ordeal

 November 30, 2024

Brazilian model Luciana Curtis and her family experienced a terrifying ordeal in São Paulo.

According to the Daily Caller, Victoria’s Secret model Luciana Curtis, her husband, and their daughter were abducted on Wednesday in São Paulo, Brazil, and held captive for 12 hours before being released.

The 47-year-old model, her spouse, and their 11-year-old daughter were initially targeted outside a local Japanese restaurant. The assailants, masked and unidentified, subsequently used the family’s vehicle to transport them to their place of confinement.

The family was taken to a remote shack located in Brasilândia, a district in São Paulo's northern perimeter. The rudimentary structure where they were held included only basic amenities, which highlighted the severity of their situation.

Forced Transactions and Subsequent Release

During the harrowing 12 hours of captivity, Curtis and her husband were coerced by their kidnappers into making bank transfers. The specifics of the transaction amounts remain undisclosed.

Following the forced transactions, the family was set free in Parada de Taipas, another area of the city. The release happened roughly around the same time they had been abducted the previous evening.

Immediately after their release, the Curtises were able to flag down a truck with public workers who assisted them in getting to a nearby police station. This act finally put an end to their immediate danger and formally involved the authorities in their case.

Investigations Underway as Family Recovers

Law enforcement promptly responded to the Curtis family's ordeal. The São Paulo Civil Police’s Anti-Kidnapping Division (DAS), along with the 3rd Police Station focusing on the Repression of Extortion with Restriction of the Victim’s Freedom, has since launched a full investigation.

The crime scene, the wooden shack, was located by police officials. However, the suspects had already fled, leaving behind no immediate evidence of their identities or whereabouts.

The vehicle used during the kidnapping was later found abandoned and burned, an act typically meant to destroy evidence. As of now, the funds extracted through forced bank transfers have not been recovered, adding complexity to the ongoing investigation.

Community and Law Enforcement Reaction

The Curtis family’s distressing experience has shocked the local community and drawn significant media attention due to Luciana's public figure status. Although physically unharmed, the emotional and psychological toll is yet to be fully assessed. Their elder daughter, spared from the ordeal by her absence at the time, was the one to raise alarms the next morning upon discovering her family missing.

Authorities have yet to identify any suspects in connection with the abduction, and they are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to arrests.

This incident underscores the persistent issues of kidnapping for ransom in major Brazilian cities, spotlighting both the audacity of criminal elements and the vulnerabilities of public figures. The investigation continues as both local and international support pours in for Curtis and her family during their recovery period.

In conclusion, Victoria’s Secret model Luciana Curtis, alongside her family, endured a frightening kidnapping ordeal, forced into bank transfers while held captive, and was released without physical harm. Authorities are pursuing the investigation with high priority, determined to bring those responsible to justice.
