Border Crossing Turns Violent

About three weeks ago, an incident at the border got national headlines. A group of about 100 migrants rushed the border wall at Gate 35, breaking through the razor wire and knocking over border personnel to enter the country illegally.

According to reports at the time, the Texas National Guard was trying to get the migrants organized into smaller groups. Things started to get ugly when the guards were keeping women and children separated from the men in the group, which then resulted in a large group of mostly single men rushing the fence and trying to overpower the guardsmen. The guardsmen took up the space in the fence where it has been torn down, but there were only a handful of guardsmen who were eventually overwhelmed. You can see how this all played out in the video below…

Governor Abbott put the responsibility for the entire incident on the Biden administration. His office stated:

“The surge today in El Paso is the direct result of the unsustainable chaos President Biden has unleashed on the border.

“The Texas Military Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety quickly gained control of the situation and are working to repair the damage. These illegal immigrants committed crimes in Texas, and the Department of Public Safety is under instruction to arrest every illegal immigrant involved for committing criminal trespass and destruction of property.”

Soldier Shoots Migrant at Border Crossing

Since that event took place, the temperature at the border has soared, seeing more and more violence and uprisings reported. That leads us to what took place on Sunday.

According to reports, at an area near Gate 36 at the El Paso border crossing, a location near where the incident took place in March, a soldier has no choice but to open fire on a migrant. One of the migrants had started to stab other migrants at the crossing, so the soldier opened fire, hitting the man, who then fled back to Mexico before being apprehended.

Authorities announced later that the two individuals who were stabbed had been treated and were described as having suffered “superficial wounds,” which were not considered life-threatening.

The situation at the border has been a complete and utter disgrace ever since Biden took over the White House, but this was all to be expected. People seem to forget that when Joe Biden was on the campaign trail during the 2020 cycle, he stated that he wanted to double legal immigration numbers and believed that the United States could take in somewhere between two to three million migrants immediately without any issues.

Because of Biden’s loose border policies, these migrants have very little fear of being deported if they can get over the border and processed. For most of the last three years, Biden has done this without repercussion, but it has finally gotten to the point that Democrat mayors and Democrats living in cities that are seeing a large influx of migrants are getting fed up, so now he has no choice but to address the situation.

This being an election year, Biden’s hand is forced to appear at least as though he is trying to do something to shut down the border. He knows that if he does not get this situation under control, it will feed Trump’s campaign, and that is the last thing Biden can afford right now with his current polling numbers.
