Tyler Robinson's Roommate Tips FBI, Family Mum on Transgender Motive for Kirk Shooting

 September 13, 2025, NEWS

In a chilling turn of events at Utah Valley University, a young man named Tyler Robinson, 22, stands accused of the shocking murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Daily Mail reported that on Wednesday, Robinson allegedly opened fire on Kirk at the university campus, an act that has sent ripples of concern through conservative circles nationwide.

Robinson, a third-year electrical apprenticeship student at Dixie Technical College in Saint George, Utah, was turned in by his roommate, Lance Twiggs, who provided damning evidence to law enforcement.

Roommate's Crucial Role in Arrest

Twiggs, a South Utah native who studied at Utah Tech University, handed over incriminating Discord messages that detailed Robinson’s actions, including stashing a rifle in a bush near the UVU campus.

Those texts, outlined in a law enforcement affidavit, revealed Robinson’s meticulous planning—wrapping the weapon in a towel, watching the drop point, and even engraving bullets. If that’s not a red flag, what is?

Police later recovered a Mauser .30-06 caliber rifle in a wooded area near the campus, matching the eerie descriptions from the messages, leading to Robinson’s arrest on charges of murder, obstruction, and felony firearm possession.

Police Raid Apartment in Early Dawn

By Friday at 5:30 a.m., authorities descended on the Fossil Hills housing complex in Saint George, where Robinson and Twiggs shared a three-bedroom apartment, cordoning off the area as stunned neighbors watched.

Investigators hauled out paper bags, envelopes, and a personal computer, while a forensics team meticulously documented the scene under the early desert sun. It’s the kind of drama you’d expect in a crime thriller, not a quiet college town.

Twiggs, notably not accused of any involvement, appears to have acted out of duty, though his silence since speaking with the police leaves questions lingering like morning fog.

Speculation Swirls Around Possible Motives

Rumors of a transgender connection have surfaced, with some reports mentioning Robinson living with a transgender partner cooperating with the investigation, though Twiggs isn’t explicitly named as such in official documents.

Lance’s grandfather, Jerry Twiggs, dodged questions about these rumors, saying, “I don’t want to comment on that.” Well, sidestepping the elephant in the room only fuels more speculation, doesn’t it?

Jerry also noted, “After he was with the police, he’s been at his house, and there’s no way for us to contact him other than going over there.” The family’s reticence adds another layer of mystery to an already murky case.

Community Reacts to Troubling Behavior

Neighbors at Fossil Hills described Robinson and Twiggs as reclusive, with one anonymous resident telling the Daily Mail she’d only spoken to Twiggs twice in two years. Hardly the hallmarks of a social butterfly.

Another resident, Josh Kemp, 18, told The New York Times that Robinson would “blast music” with his roommate but avoided interaction, while young Oliver Holt, 11, recalled Robinson acting “pretty strange” and nervous just last week. Turns out, gut instincts about odd behavior might be worth heeding.

While authorities have yet to confirm a motive, Utah Governor Spencer Cox told the Wall Street Journal that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.” If true, it’s a sobering reminder that radical ideas can have deadly consequences in the wrong hands.
