Tulsi Gabbard Assists Donald Trump In Debate Prep Against Kamala Harris

 September 8, 2024

In a significant political collaboration, former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard is lending her debate expertise to Donald Trump for his upcoming confrontation with Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to the Daily Caller, Tulsi Gabbard, once a Democratic contender herself, is now preparing Donald Trump with insights from her personal debate experience against Kamala Harris in 2020.

Gabbard, who represented Hawaii and now endorses Trump, criticized Harris for inconsistencies during their debate, notably concerning Harris’s prosecutorial record. The former Congresswoman's role involves coaching Trump on countering Harris effectively in the upcoming presidential debate.

Detailed Prep Set for a Strategic Debate Performance

Following their public appearances together, including endorsements exchanged at a National Guard Association conference in Detroit in late August and a town hall in La Crosse, Wisconsin, both political figures have showcased a strong alliance.

Their shared critiques of Washington’s establishment have signaled a consolidated front ahead of the critical debate on September 10, hosted in Philadelphia. This debate, unique for its no-audience setup and microphone control, poses a novel challenge for both candidates.

The debate’s stringent format, including muted microphones during opponent's turns, demands precise and impactful speech, areas where Gabbard's experience is expected to be particularly beneficial to Trump. The preparations are focused not only on content but on delivery and tactics suited to this format.

Gabbard cited her previous debate experiences where she challenged Harris directly on her record as a prosecutor, which she will infuse into Trump’s strategy. She explained:

“If I can be helpful as we head into this final week ahead of the debate, [it is] really just sharing the experience that I had with her going toe-to-toe with her on that debate stage. There was no other Democratic candidate in 2020 that challenged Kamala Harris’ hypocrisy and lies. I did that and I can share some of the ways I think she is going to try to get after him, get under his skin, and once again, try to hide the truth about her record from the American people as she tries to create this new version of who is Kamala Harris that is not at all reflective of the truth."

Expanding Roles and Responsibilities

The involvement of Gabbard in Trump's campaign extends beyond debate preparation. She has been named alongside Robert Kennedy Jr. on Trump's transition team, taking a keen interest in U.S. foreign policy and national security changes.

Gabbard’s criticism of the establishment and the so-called Washington swamp aligns with Trump’s broader campaign rhetoric, promising transformational changes in governance and policy.

Her commentary on necessary qualities for political leadership stresses the importance of steadfastness and principles. Cultivating an administration that challenges entrenched powers, according to Gabbard, is crucial for real transformation in Washington. These priorities underline her advocacy for a leadership style dedicated to transparency and accountability.

The debate on September 10 at the National Constitution Center, moderated by ABC News’s David Muir and Linsey Davis, is poised to be a pivotal moment in the presidential race. Both the Trump and Biden campaigns have negotiated conditions aimed at facilitating a focused and uninterrupted exchange of ideas.

As September approaches, all eyes will be on Philadelphia where Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will articulate their visions for America’s future. Tulsi Gabbard’s strategic counsel to Trump is anticipated to be a decisive element in his debate performance, reflecting her ongoing influence in national politics despite her shift away from the Democratic Party.

Her role within Trump's campaign and potentially his administration emphasizes a commitment to challenging the status quo and advocating for a government that adheres to principled and engaged leadership.
