Former President Donald Trump has announced plans to focus his efforts on defeating Senators Sherrod Brown and Jon Tester in the next elections.
According to Fox News, in a mission to reclaim senate control, Trump targets the seats held by Brown of Ohio and Tester of Montana, both democrats representing states Trump carried in 2020.
Both senators are up for re-election in states that swung towards Trump in the 2020 Presidential elections, making them particularly vulnerable. According to Trump, these Democrats are prime targets due to their voting records aligning closely with President Biden's policies.
Senator Jon Tester has made efforts to distance his policies from those of Biden, especially concerning border control and COVID mandates. Despite these efforts, his integrity is questioned by Republicans in his state.
Monica Robinson, a spokesperson for Montanans for Tester, emphasized Tester's bipartisan appeal. Here's what she said, "Jon Tester does what’s right for Montana. That’s why when President Trump was in office, he signed more than 20 of Jon Tester's bills into law to help veterans, crack down on government waste and abuse, and support our first responders."
