President Donald Trump has made a decisive move against federal diversity initiatives.
On his first day in office, Trump signed an executive order to cease all federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, which impacted hundreds of workers and halted substantial contractual expenditures, Fox News reported.
President Trump’s order immediately suspended 395 government employees, placing them on paid administrative leave. Additionally, it caused significant financial impacts by discontinuing approximately $420 million in DEI-related contracts, which primarily aimed to foster diversity initiatives across various federal agencies.
