Donald Trump was back on the campaign trail on Tuesday, holding a rally in Michigan, a key battleground state where Trump was defeated in 2020.
During the rally, Trump tried to reverse the negativity drawn to him over his bloodbath comments by putting it on Biden and the current situation at the border.
Talking Points…
- Media meltdown over Trump' blood bath' comments
- Trump flips the script
- Analysis
A couple of weeks ago, Trump held a rally in Dayton, OH, where Trump discussed the problems of the auto industry. Biden's aggressive climate change agenda looks to have at least 50% of the cars being sold as EVs by 2030, but the problem is that the American people are not quite buying into this. So, in order to force them on people, the EPA has been cranking out new rules that would more or less make gasoline-powered vehicles illegal in just a few decades.
The auto industry has been taking it on the chin regarding profitability for EVs, which is where Trump was headed with his comments. While discussing this, he stated:
"Now, if I don't get elected, it's gonna be a bloodbath. That's going to be the least of it.
"It's going to be a bloodbath for the country."
It seemed clear to me what Trump was referring to at the time, but I knew the second those words came out of his mouth, the media and Democrats would pull the quote out of context and use it against him, and that is precisely what they did. Every left-leaning publication out there focused on the "bloodbath" aspect of it, saying that Trump was trying to rile up his supporters to riot if he did not win the election. As did the Biden campaign, which posted:
"This is who Donald Trump is: a loser who gets beat by over 7 million votes and then instead of appealing to a wider mainstream audience doubles down on his threats of political violence."
Knowing the media had a bit on the comment the first time, Trump put it out there again during a Michigan rally this week. This time, however, Trump used the term for the issues at the border and the American citizens and legal residents who are losing their lives at the hands of or being assaulted or injured by illegal immigrants.
Trump stated that under the Biden administration, "every state is a border state." He also commented on the death of Ruby Garcia, a 25-year-old woman whom an illegal immigrant allegedly killed. The suspect had been deported but managed to get back into the country. Trump stated that Garcia was:
"A beautiful young woman was savagely murdered by an illegal alien criminal. Under the Trump administration, this monster had been deported, thrown out of the country."
Trump then added that Biden has created "a border bloodbath, and it's destroying our country." The Biden campaign then responded:
"It was Donald Trump who ordered his MAGA allies to kill it because he thinks it helps him politically – he doesn't actually care about border security."
Trump firmly believes that no press is bad press, especially for him. Actually, he thrives on the bad press because he flips it around and claims to be the victim. This has been a very effective tool for him thus far, so there is no way he will stop going this route now. He also knows that anything he says about the border, the Biden campaign will turn around and blame him, which only drives more people to him because they are sick of Biden blaming everything on an administration that has not been in office for more than three years. You know what they say… if it isn't broken, don't fix it.
