Trump Claims Schiff Committed Fraud in Loan Scandal

 July 21, 2025, NEWS

President Donald Trump has dropped a bombshell accusation against Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) that’s got the political world buzzing.

Over a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump has charged Schiff with falsifying loan documents and engaging in what he calls mortgage fraud, while Schiff has fired back, dismissing the claims as entirely without merit in a recent YouTube video, Breitbart reported.

The saga kicked off last Tuesday when Trump took to Truth Social, suggesting that Schiff might be guilty of mortgage fraud with some questionable financial dealings.

Trump’s Serious Accusations Against Schiff

By Sunday night, Trump doubled down with another post, outright accusing Schiff of tampering with loan paperwork to secure better rates.

According to Trump, the alleged fraud centers on Schiff listing a Maryland property as his primary residence to snag a cheaper mortgage, despite being required to live in California as a Congressman representing that state.

Trump didn’t hold back, alleging that this pattern of deceit started with a refinance of the Maryland property back on February 6, 2009, and persisted through various transactions until it was finally marked as a second home on October 13, 2020.

Fannie Mae Report Fuels Controversy

Adding fuel to the fire, Trump pointed to findings from Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division, claiming they’ve concluded Schiff engaged in a consistent pattern of potential mortgage fraud.

“I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist,” Trump declared on Truth Social, painting a picture of a politician gaming the system for personal gain. Let’s be honest— if these claims hold water, it’s a serious breach of trust for someone in Schiff’s position.

Trump went further, saying, “Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America.” That’s a bold statement, and if proven, it could spell real trouble for Schiff in a climate where voters are fed up with perceived elitism.

Schiff Responds to Allegations

Not one to sit quietly, Schiff responded with a five-minute video on YouTube, pushing back hard against Trump’s narrative.

Schiff called the accusations “baseless,” rejecting every charge from fraud to past claims of treason as nothing more than political theater. But in an era where public skepticism of politicians runs deep, will that explanation satisfy a frustrated electorate?

Trump, meanwhile, isn’t letting up, insisting that Schiff’s actions amount to a “real crime” deserving of prison time. “Now Shifty should pay the price,” Trump posted, tying the issue to broader themes of accountability that resonate with many conservatives tired of double standards.

Public Trust at Stake Here

This clash isn’t just a personal spat—it’s a window into the deeper divide over integrity in public office, a value many Americans feel has been eroded by progressive agendas and insider games.

For Trump’s supporters, this story fits a narrative of holding the political class accountable, especially those seen as part of a coastal elite disconnected from everyday struggles. Yet, even critics of Schiff must acknowledge that unproven allegations risk muddying the waters of genuine oversight.

As this story unfolds, the question remains: will hard evidence emerge to back Trump’s claims, or will Schiff’s rebuttal stand as the final word? One thing is certain— in today’s polarized climate, this feud is far from over, and it’s another reminder of why trust in our leaders is so hard to come by.
