Trump Blasts Biden Administration for Lack of Americans Among Freed Hostages

By Jerry McConway, updated on November 27, 2023

On Friday, the limited cease-fire between Hamas and Israel started, as did the exchange for prisoners.

The deal heavily favored Hamas, but there was another aspect of the deal that Donald Trump wanted to make sure was known by everyone.

Talking Points…

  • The deal and hostages freed
  • Trump comments
  • Analysis

The Deal

Early reports from the deal that had been brokered offered a 3:1 ratio in favor of Hamas for hostages exchanged with Israel.

A total of 50 Hamas prisoners would be exchanged for 150 prisoners taken by Israel, the difference being that the Hamas hostages are all innocent civilians, and the prisoners that Israel took are mostly fighters for Hamas.

Hamas is believed to be holding at least 10 American hostages, yet after the first two waves of hostages were set free, there were no Americans among them.

Trump Comments

After the Saturday release took place, with no Americans released, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social his disappointment regarding the hostage release.

He posted:

"Has anybody noticed that Hamas has returned people from other Countries but, so far, has not returned one American Hostage?

"There is only one reason for that, NO RESPECT FOR OUR COUNTRY OR OUR LEADERSHIP. This is a very sad and dark period of America!"

Biden only made matters worse when he was asked when Americans would be released, responding:

"We don't know when that will occur, but we're going to expect it to occur.

"We don't know what the list of all the hostages are and when they will be released, but we know the numbers that are going to be released, So, it's my hope and expectation it will be soon."

On Sunday, the first American was finally released, that being the 4-year-old girl, Abigail Mor Edan.

Analysis

It is somewhat baffling that the United States has not had more of a say in who is getting set free and when.

While I realize that the majority of the people taken were citizens of Israel, the United States will be paying a significant portion of Israel's aid to fight his war, so one would think that the American hostages would be among the first requested to be released.

The fact that after three days of release, only one American has been set free, well, as Trump noted, is a slap in the face to America.

This is Hamas telling Joe Biden that it does not fear him or his response to the situation, so those Americans are going to continue to be held by these terrorists.

To make matters worse, as Rep. Boebert (R-CO) pointed out in the X post below, once again, Joe Biden does not let a little thing like an international crisis get in the way of his vacation…

If this is Joe Biden's plan to flip his polling numbers, he is off to a pretty rough start.

It is hard to imagine Americans taking this news lightly, as Biden once again is living it up at the home of a wealthy donor, while Americans are literally held hostage as well as struggle to put food on the table for their holiday dinners.
