Former President Donald Trump has suggested modifying the 25th Amendment to allow for the impeachment of vice presidents who allegedly conceal a president's incapacity.
According to Politico, Trump made this proposal during a recent rally in Wisconsin, continuing his claims about Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party hiding President Biden's health status.
Trump's proposal comes less than two months after President Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race amid concerns about his age and mental acuity. The former president's comments reflect his ongoing narrative questioning Biden's fitness for office, particularly following what he described as a "disastrous" debate performance in June that ultimately led to Biden's exit from the race.
During his rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, Trump expressed his support for modifying the 25th Amendment. He stated:
I will support modifying the 25th Amendment to make clear that if a vice president lies or engages in a conspiracy to cover up the incapacity of the president of the United States — if you do that with a cover-up of the president of the United States, it's grounds for impeachment immediately and removal from office, because that's what they did.

Liz Cheney.
Harris stated:
They both, as leaders who are well respected, are making an important statement — that it's OK and important to put country above party, and I'm honored to have their support.
Trump, however, did not address these endorsements during his rally; instead, he focused on his plans to "drain the swamp" and improve government efficiency.
During his Wisconsin rally, Trump outlined several campaign promises, including the creation of a "government efficiency" commission and a pledge to cut 10 federal regulations for every new one implemented. He also reiterated his call to dismantle the Department of Education.
