The Trump administration has just dropped a digital bombshell on the White House website that’s got Democrats squirming, as Fox News reports.
The latest move out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is a freshly launched historical timeline of the White House, cleverly paired with a jab at past Democratic controversies, all while pushing forward with a massive, privately funded ballroom project that’s drawn sharp criticism from the left.
This timeline, unveiled on the White House website as of Thursday, stretches back to 1791 when the iconic residence was first planned.
It covers significant milestones like the addition of the north portico between 1829 and 1830, the creation of the Oval Office in 1909 under President Taft, and even the extensive interior reconstruction during the Truman era.
But here’s where it gets spicy—the timeline doesn’t shy away from highlighting scandals tied to Democratic administrations, including a 2023 incident of cocaine found in the West Wing lobby under President Biden.
The entry even nods to speculation about Hunter Biden’s involvement, pointing to his admitted drug use and a laptop from 2019 with compromising content, alongside emails suggesting foreign business ties involving Joe Biden during his vice presidency.
Further down the timeline, there’s a reference to the 1998 Bill Clinton scandal involving his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky, which spiraled into perjury probes and impeachment proceedings over Oval Office misconduct.
The Obama years aren’t spared either, with a 2012 mention of hosting a Muslim Brotherhood delegation, a group linked to Islamist extremism and designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.
Adding fuel to the fire, the timeline notes the Biden-Harris administration’s 2023 hosting of transgender individuals at the White House and the 2024 proclamation of Transgender Day of Visibility coinciding with Easter Sunday, a move that’s raised eyebrows among traditionalists.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is forging ahead with a bold construction project—a 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House, designed to seat 650 guests, with private funding covering every penny.
Democrats are up in arms, decrying the project as unnecessary, especially as crews have already begun demolishing part of the East Wing to make way for the new space.
Hillary Clinton took to X with a scathing remark, saying, “It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.” Well, Hillary, last time we checked, renovations don’t equate to destruction, especially when taxpayers aren’t footing the bill.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren also chimed in, snarking, “Donald Trump can't hear you over the sound of bulldozers demolishing a wing of the White House.” Clever, Senator, but perhaps the sound of progress is drowning out the same old progressive complaints about a project that costs the public nothing.
New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim joined the chorus, lamenting on X about a historic section of the White House being torn down for what he called a “billionaire-funded ballroom.” Yet, one might ask if preserving every brick is worth stifling a modernization that past presidents, even from his own party, have long desired.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the project on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” pointing out that nearly every president has updated the residence, and many have yearned for a larger event space. She even noted how President Obama once had to rent an expensive tent for a state dinner on the South Lawn due to space constraints. If that’s not a case for a ballroom, what is?
