Over the weekend, a second attempt was made on Donald Trump's life, yet the media was pointing the finger at Trump to stop his rhetoric.
What the media failed to look at was the violent statements made against Trump, including one by a top adviser of Kamala Harris.
Talking Points…
- Harris adviser's rhetoric against Trump
- Top Dems continue to pile on
- Analysis
If Democrats want to make the argument that Trump's comments incite violence, then the same measuring stick must be used for their comments about Trump. We can go back to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) encouraging people to get in the face of Trump officials before then-Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was accosted at a restaurant. What about conservative pundit Tomi Lahren having water thrown at her while dining with her parents?
Kamala Harris, while making an appearance on "Ellen," joked about killing Donald Trump or Mike Pence. Kamala Harris senior adviser David Plouffe is also guilty of this rhetoric, once posting on X:
"It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again."
If you look at the supporting post below, you will see an endless list of Democrats promoting violence against Trump…
According to Democrats, when leading Kamala figure David Plouffe declares
"Trump must be destroyed throughly. His kind must not rise again," ... orDem Rep. Dan Goldman says
"Trump must be eliminated."Or

One would think after a second attempt against Trump, Dems would dial it down a bit, but instead, they hit the gas pedal. Within hours of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, House Minority Leader Jeffries (D-N.Y.) posted:
"Extreme MAGA Republicans are the party of a national abortion ban and Trump's Project 2025.
"We must stop them."
Then, on Monday, Hillary Clinton was on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow, where she spewed her usual venom against Trump, stating:
"The object in this case is Donald Trump, his demagoguery, his danger to our country and the world. You know, they were merciless about what they saw as President Biden's problems in the debate and calling for him to withdraw. I believe Donald Trump has disqualified himself over and over and over again to be a presidential candidate, let alone a president.
"I do think more and more Americans are rejecting the kind of chaos that he represents. We can't go back. That's what the Harris campaign says all the time. We're not going back. We're not going back to, you know, what he failed to do to protect American lives during COVID. We're not going back to the, you know, romance with dictators that puts innocent lives at risk and puts America's security in danger. We can't go back and give this very dangerous man another chance to do harm to our country and the world."
Trump responded to their comments and the second attempt on his life, stating:
"[The suspect] believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it. Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out.
"It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat."
I am not giving Trump a free pass on his rhetoric, as he clearly likes to get people riled up, but the media is only calling him out while giving Democrats a free ride. You literally have the entire party making statements about eliminating him and a danger to our country, etc., and the media never says a word. Trump made a post saying that he hates Taylor Swift, and they are ready to order Secret Service protection for her in fear of a MAGA supporter trying to take her out. Call out both sides equally, and yes, everyone needs to dial down the rhetoric because we are getting dangerously close to crossing a line in this country, and I am not sure we can come back from it anytime soon once that line is crossed.
