A TikTok influencer with 30,000 followers faces serious charges after a reckless driving incident in Argentina.

According to National World, Agustín López Gagliasso, 20, was driving at 74mph with a female passenger on his lap when he crashed into a family walking along Rosario's waterfront, killing two and injuring others.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of 41-year-old Tania Gandolfi and her 16-year-old daughter Agustina García. The woman's husband, Diego García, and their six-year-old daughter survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.

Young influencer engaged in dangerous behavior before deadly collision

Moments before the fatal crash, Gagliasso's passenger, identified as Giovanna R, recorded a video of herself sitting on his lap while he was driving.

According to her statement, the incident began when Gagliasso became enraged after a motorcyclist overtook his Peugeot 206 in the Arturo Illia tunnel.

Giovanna R claimed that Gagliasso pursued the motorcyclist at high speed, performing dangerous maneuvers and weaving between vehicles. This reckless behavior ultimately led to him losing control of the vehicle and striking the family on the waterfront path.

The female passenger, who suffered minor injuries and bruising, later posted about her survival on social media, stating she was "not dead by a miracle." Both she and Gagliasso were hospitalized briefly following the crash.

Legal proceedings reveal alcohol involvement and devastating impact

Prosecutors Mariana Prunotto and Valeria Piazza Iglesias charged Gagliasso with simple homicide with eventual intent.

Tests revealed he had 0.2 grams of alcohol in his blood, leading to the suspension of his driver's license by the Provincial Road Safety Agency of Rosario.

During a court hearing on January 24, Diego García delivered an emotional testimony about the devastating impact of the crash on his life. The surviving husband and father stated through tears:

My father is hospitalised due to a stroke, and together with Tania we had a small business that I can no longer support. I lost everything. This man destroyed my family, my source of work and everything I had. My daughter now needs all my attention, and I am alone. For me, he is a murderer behind the wheel. He used the car as a weapon, without caring about anything.

Gagliasso's defense attorney, Carlos Varela, is seeking to reduce the charges from double simple homicide, which carries an eight to 25-year sentence, to double negligent homicide, which would result in a three to six-year prison term.

Fatal consequences await social media star charged with homicide

Agustín López Gagliasso, a 20-year-old TikTok influencer known for posting content about cars and parties, now faces up to 25 years in prison for the deaths of Tania Gandolfi and Agustina García in Rosario, Argentina.

The incident occurred after he allegedly chased a motorcyclist while driving under the influence of alcohol with a passenger sitting on his lap. While Gagliasso remains in pre-trial detention, his defense team attempts to reduce the charges as the victim's family seeks maximum punishment for their devastating loss.
