Sophie Rain tells Pete Davidson to try the grind after he mocked millionaire influencers

OnlyFans star Sophie Rain fired back at Pete Davidson for mocking women influencers who earn tens of millions, saying if it’s so easy, he should try it himself.

The 32-year-old “Saturday Night Live” alum went viral this week after a Variety interview in which he dismissed female creators who pull in huge paydays online. Davidson, a Staten Island native, complained that girls are “just talking to themselves” on social platforms and do “nothing” while banking fortunes.

“They make $40 million a year... what? And then I’m like, ‘The world’s broken,’” he said. In the same stretch he asked, “Who the f, k are you? What do you do? Nothing.”

Sophie Rain did not let the dig pass. The 22-year-old Miami native, who told The Post she brings in around $45 million a year on OnlyFans, answered that the rant sounded targeted and lazy. She also dropped a public “@me next time” under an Instagram clip of the Variety remarks.

Rain says the easy-money line ignores the actual work

“I’d tell him that if it’s really that easy, he should go do it,” Rain said. She noted Davidson has joked about starting an OnlyFans page himself, which undercuts the claim that the money appears by accident.

“He literally joked about starting an OnlyFans himself, so clearly he understands there’s money in it. But if you think people are making millions by accident, you probably don’t understand the business very well,” she said.

Rain grew up on food stamps and built a large online audience while keeping her OnlyFans content at lingerie and bikini-level teasing; she is known for marketing herself as a virgin creator. She holds 15.4 million followers on TikTok alone. That reach, she argued, does not run on autopilot.

“It’s easy to look at a 60-second video and say, ‘What does this person even do?’ when you have no idea what goes into building an audience or running a business online. I get that he’s a comedian, but the whole ‘these girls do nothing’ thing is just lazy,” she said.

She listed the daily load: filming, shooting, editing, planning content, talking to fans, checking analytics, coordinating shoots, traveling, and working with a team. “There are days where I’m working from the moment I wake up until I go to bed. Just because the finished product looks effortless doesn’t mean it was effortless to make.”

Davidson skipped names and still sounded sure

Rain also called out the decision to trash a whole category of women without naming anyone.

“I mean, if you’re going to complain about girls making millions online, you might as well say who you’re talking about,” she said. “I thought it was funny that he was saying all of that without actually naming anyone.”

She added that Davidson has never tried to date her or messaged her. “Maybe that’s why he’s so confused about what I do.” On the broader point, she was blunt: “I don’t think saying women are doing ‘nothing’ because you don’t understand their jobs is particularly clever. There are definitely better jokes.”

Davidson’s own dating history has put him next to high-profile women, including Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, and Emily Ratajkowski. He recently split from model and actress Elsie Hewitt. Rain’s reply cut straight through the résumé talk: “Clearly he has something going for him. I just don’t think dating famous women automatically makes you an expert on women who built businesses online.”

The full Variety sit-down landed on YouTube. Davidson has also said he stepped away from social media after an earlier interview in which he described the platforms as something that was “mentally... destroying me.” He keeps no personal accounts now, even as he lectures creators whose entire trade lives on those same platforms.

Rain is already looking ahead to Halloween and floated a costume idea aimed at the same critique. “Maybe I’ll dress up as someone who ‘does nothing’ and somehow still works 12-hour days.”

Markets still pay people who build audiences and ship product. Comedians free to mock that hustle might first try matching the hours.
