REPORT: Trump Attorneys Ask Michael Avenatti to Testify

 April 22, 2024

It would seem that Trump’s attorneys appear to have a loaded barrel in the hush-money case that they only just fired off.

According to reports, Trump’s attorneys have reportedly contacted disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti to testify.

Talking Points…
- Avenatti fall from grace
- Trump’s secret weapon

Avenatti Fall from Grace

If you recall, when Stormy Daniels first secured Michael Avenatti to represent her in the case, he immediately became the media's golden boy. He did every show you could possibly imagine, racking up hundreds of appearances on mainstream media. When he appeared, the hosts of whatever show he was on usually gushed over him, telling him how amazing it was that he would take on Donald Trump.

Several articles were published at the time regarding how many appearances Avenatti had made. The Hill reported that over a very short stretch of only a few months, Avenatti had appeared on CNN 65 times and MSNBC 43 times. This took place between March 7 and May 10, which means that he was on MSNBC just about every day and not only appeared on CNN just about every day but was making appearances on multiple shows.

On April 11, 2019, Fox News also ran a report on the mainstream media's fascination with Michael Avenatti. That report noted 254 appearances by Avenatti on TV over the course of the year, which roughly means that we saw Avenatti on TV two out of every three days.

Then, as we all know, Avenatti had his fall from grace. It was revealed that Avenatti was stealing from Stormy Daniels and other clients, as well as obstruction. After his sentence was handed down, US Attorney Martin Estrada stated:

“Michael Avenatti was a corrupt lawyer who claimed he was fighting for the little guy. In fact, he only cared about his own selfish interests.

“He stole millions of dollars from his clients – all to finance his extravagant lifestyle that included a private jet and race cars. As a result of his illegal acts, he has lost his right to practice law in California, and now he will serve a richly deserved prison sentence.”

Trump Reaches Out to Avenatti to Testify

In all, Avenatti was sentenced to 19 years in prison over numerous cases, but the media is still reaching out to him for comments on this case. It also appears that Donald Trump is interested in hearing Avenatti testify, as he has been taking up for Trump as of late, claiming the case against Trump is politically motivated. During a recent interview, Avenatti stated:

“I’d be more than happy to testify. I don’t know that I will be called to testify, but I have been in touch with Trump’s defense for the better part of a year.”

Avenatti did not elaborate on how he would be helping Trump, or even if he would be helping Trump, but he did shred Bragg for choosing now to prosecute the case. Avenatti added:

“There’s no question [the trial] is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he may be reelected.

“If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time, and for the government to attempt to bring this case and convict him in an effort to prevent tens of millions of people from voting for him, I think it’s just flat out wrong, and atrocious.”

Analysis

I am not sure how much weight Avenatti’s testimony will hold, but he clearly has an agenda here to get back at Stormy Daniels. Avenatti stated that the Trump cases “bothered” him, further stating that Trump had been “targeted.” He even predicted the case would “backfire” and that Trump would wind up being re-elected. What I am most curious to see, if Avenatti does, in fact, testify for Trump, is to see how the media turns on its one-time golden boy, who many were even suggesting should run for president against Donald Trump during the height of Avenatti's popularity.
