REPORT: Rep. Tlaib Member of Facebook Group Glamorizing Hamas

 November 15, 2023

An alarming report surfaced early Wednesday morning regarding Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

Tlaib has been under fire for anti-Semitic comments after the Hamas attack against Israel.

Now, according to a recent Fox News report, it has been revealed that she is a member of a Facebook group that has glamorized the Hamas attacks against Israel.

Talking Points…

  • Tlaib Facebook group
  • Tlaib censure
  • Analysis

Tlaib Facebook Group

The group on Facebook is called the Palestinian American Congress. Tlaib has been a member of this group since her first campaign in 2018.

It is a private group on Facebook, but Fox News got access to see the posts and Tlaib comments.

The group was founded by Maher Abdel-Qadir, a longtime Tlaib ally as well as someone that regularly posts anti-Semitic comments as well as questioning the legitimacy of the Holocaust.

Some of the featured posts on the page include a Hamas fighter with an Israeli prisoner, pictures of dead Israeli soldiers, and "achievements" of the resistance that featured an image of a Hamas fighter.

The page is actually littered with pro-Hamas, anti-Israel posts, regularly accusing Israel of genocide and promoting the "armed resistance" in Palestine. The "armed resistance" would be Hamas.

For example, one post declared:

"Israeli Nazis air strike (sic) on Ahli Arab Hospital killed more than 500 people stop the massacre now."

This is the hospital strike that was actually a failed Hamas rocket, yet Tlaib herself promoted the idea that it was Israel that blew up the hospital.

Tlaib Censure

There was an effort by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to expel Tlaib, but it failed, with members of the MAGA contingent in the House part of the GOP caucus that voted against the measure.

The effort to censure Tlaib, however, was successful.

Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) was among those backing the measure that claimed Tlaib "levied unbelievable falsehoods about our greatest ally, Israel, and the attack on October 7."

Tlaib tried to defend her comments, stating:

"It is important to separate people and government.

"The idea that criticizing the government of Israel is antisemitic sets a very dangerous precedent. And it's been used to silence diverse voices speaking up for human rights across our nation."

This was all in response to Tlaib spreading misinformation about Israel as well as having defended "from the river to sea," a phrase that was widely recognized as pushing for the complete annihilation of the people of Israel.

Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), who voted with Republicans on the resolution, stated:

"It is nothing else but the call for the destruction of Israel and murder of Jews.

"I will always defend the right to free speech. Tlaib has the right to say whatever she wants. But it cannot go unanswered."

Analysis

There is really not much to say here other than we have to seriously consider the removal of Tlaib from Congress.

As Schneider noted, I am all for free speech, but that does not mean people should not be held accountable for their words.

Tlaib's loyalty clearly does not lie with the United States or its allies, so what purpose does she serve for the American people in Congress?

Sadly, however, most of the Democrat caucus supports her, so the numbers are not there to expel her. So, we have to rely on voters in Michigan to do the right thing and remove her from office.

She is being primaried in 2024, but if she survives that, she is likely to get re-elected, which is just a shame for the people of Michigan and horrifying for American citizens.
