Melania Trump may not be in the public eye very much, but she definitely has the ear of Donald Trump.
And, according to reports, she has chimed in on who she would like to see as Donald Trump’s VP.
I have to admit, when I read the report on Axios, I was stunned.
Sources close to Trump told the outlet that Melania is putting Tucker Carlson in Trump’s ear as the VP.
The report stated that Melania believes that Carlson has a very powerful presence and would greatly benefit Trump on the campaign trail.
Trump, however, has reportedly shot down the idea, believing that Carlson could outshine him on the campaign trail.
Trump likes Carlson and has been gushing over him in the media, so I would not quite dismiss this idea if Melania keeps putting this in his ear.
There was audio leaked from Fox News regarding some rather unflattering comments made by Carlson about Trump.
That now appears to be water under the bridge, as Carlson is all-in on Trump.
After the raid on Mar-a-Lago, Carlson has considered himself to be an “active Trump supporter,” and he has used his X profile to boost Trump in recent months. Carlson explained:
“So it’s bigger than Trump. It’s bigger than Biden. It’s a question of ‘Do you want to live in a free country with a functioning justice system?’ So I’m voting for Trump, and if they convict him, I will send him the max donations and I will lead protests. That’s how I feel.”
Even with all this fuss, Carlson has stated that he has no political ambitions at this time.
This is a really sticky situation because while Carlson is loved within MAGA, his attraction ends there with most conservatives.
I follow him on social media outlets and check his posts almost daily, and he gets shredded more than ever since he started using X as his main platform.
Those outside of MAGA believe he is more interested in clicks and shares than in true journalism, so there is no way they would support Tucker as the VP.
My opinion… I think it would be a huge mistake because Trump needs a VP who can help him in a demographic where he needs to steal votes from Biden.
Trump needs help with black voters and women, so Carlson does not fit the mold of what would most benefit Trump in terms of adding extra voters for the election.
I still believe that Nikki Haley, Kristi Noem, Tim Scott, and Bryon Donalds are the leading choices for Trump, and recent reports say that Ben Carson has been put on the list.
I will be more than happy to eat my words if Trump picks Carlson, but I don’t see it happening, even with Melania whispering that name in his ear.
Remember, for both Biden and Trump, with their age, this election is just as much about who will take over if something happens to them as it is about electing the top name on the ballot. I just don’t see many people supporting Tucker Carlson as the possible president of the United States.
