Rand Paul Criticizes Biden’s Immigration Policies on National TV

 June 22, 2024

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) voiced strong criticism against President Joe Biden’s immigration policies on a recent episode of FNC’s “Hannity.”

During the detailed interview, Senator Paul discussed the perceived threats posed by the influx of immigrants under President Biden's administration, Breitbart News reported.

He argued that immigration policies have contributed to both terrorism and domestic crime. Specifically, he cited immigrants from countries such as Tajikistan, Egypt, Tunisia, and China, emphasizing that the issues extend beyond terrorism to include everyday criminal activities.

Concerns Over Sanctuary Cities and Deportation Policies

Senator Paul took issue with sanctuary city policies, which he claims prevent detained immigrants from being appropriately deported. According to him, these policies interfere with sharing arrest records with immigration authorities. Thus, immigrants detained for crimes often remain in the U.S. despite their status.

In his criticism of President Biden's approach to border security, Paul linked the immigration policies directly to severe consequences, including deaths caused by immigrants who were admitted into the U.S. during Biden's tenure. He expressed particular concern over incidents where individuals paroled into the U.S. and subsequently committed crimes.

Senator Paul elaborated on President Biden's proposal to reform border policies by permitting 2,500 immigrants to enter daily. This number could potentially reach 900,000 individuals annually.

He contrasted Biden’s approach with his own and former President Donald Trump's stance, advocating for a much stricter policy. His suggested policy would begin with an absolute zero admissions standard to ultimately deter immigrants from attempting to enter.

Paul highlighted the safety risks and the broader implications of insufficiently stringent border policies. He argued that allowing too many entries could undermine national security and exacerbate criminal activities.

Rand Paul’s Bold Statements on National Policy Impact

Senator Paul expressed his viewpoint unequivocally during the televised conversation.

I think terrorism is of great concern, and I think, you know, with dozens and dozens over, almost 200 people coming in from other countries, you see the list, you see the interviews, Tajikistan, Egypt, Tunisia, all over the Middle East, China, I mean, from all over the place, but it’s not just terrorism. It’s regular domestic criminal, you know, behavior. It should be enough to disqualify Biden from consideration.

He further emphasized his concerns over the Biden administration's decisions that have, in his view, compromised public safety.

Imagine the images if people in America can figure out and know that people like Laken Riley were killed by someone that President Biden’s administration specifically allowed to come in. They paroled them. They decided that it was OK for them to come into this country. And then when they were arrested for a variety of crimes that they’re here, nobody did anything about it because they were in Democrat cities that are sanctuary cities where being arrested for a crime is not enough to be deported. They prevent the immigration authorities from seeing the arrest records. Ok, this is all on Biden’s shoulders.

In conclusion, Senator Paul holds President Biden accountable for the consequences of current U.S. immigration policies. He underscores the need for drastic changes to ensure better control and safety. Paul's critique represents a significant challenge to Biden’s immigration strategy, possibly influencing public opinion and policy decisions.
