Poll Reveals Fear of Unauthorized Votes Influencing 2024 Election

 July 24, 2024

Recent polling data show a high level of distress about the possibility of election cheating through non-citizen votes in the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election.

According to the latest survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports with the Heartland Institute, a significant number of likely voters express deep-seated concerns regarding ballot integrity and the threat of illegal voting, as the Washington Examiner reports.

This concern is not unfounded, as previous polling events in 2020 revealed challenges such as multiple ballot distributions and out-of-date electoral rolls. Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute polled 2,466 likely U.S. voters, including an oversampling from six battleground states, making the survey's findings particularly relevant in those politically volatile regions. The survey’s method included a noteworthy adaptation, directly questioning voting participants about their U.S. citizenship status.

New Polling Questions Highlight Citizenship Concerns

Interestingly, over 5% of those surveyed nationally identified as non-citizens, potentially ineligible to cast a vote according to U.S. law with nearly 4% unsure of their citizenship status. This has escalated fears about the integrity of the voting process. Rasmussen Reports' pollster, Mark Mitchell, highlighted the incorporation of these new questions.

"We’ve seen multiple polls that indicate illegal voting issues, but this is the first poll where we’ve captured illegal aliens telling us that they’re voting," Mitchell conveyed during a follow-up on the poll results, sparking broad interest and concern.

Despite repeated scrutiny and the dismissal of widespread voter fraud claims by the courts following the 2020 elections, these new findings raise fresh worries. Moreover, a noticeable 18% of survey respondents reported receiving incorrect or multiple ballots previously, with that figure even higher at 20% in key battleground states.

Battleground States Report More Ballot Issues

The implications of such polling abnormalities are particularly potent in these battleground regions where even seemingly minor discrepancies can influence election outcomes. The Heartland Institute’s editorial director, Chris Talgo, expressed severe concerns regarding the state of U.S. electoral integrity.

"The fact that more than 60% of likely voters are concerned about election integrity should be a massive wake-up call to all those who refuse to admit that potential cheating in elections is a major problem," stated Chris Talgo.

The frequent reports of electoral misconduct in various forms such as duplicate voting, outdated voter registers, and unmonitored ballot collection have only intensified the calls for sweeping electoral reforms. Talgo elaborates on the findings and their implications for future electoral systems.

The data incorporating responses on non-citizen voting highlight the potential for nearly 14 million illegal votes, which although an estimate, maps a startling scenario that could impact election results significantly.

"I’m not accusing 14 percent of illegally voting. I’m saying where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Somebody should check it out." Mark Mitchell added, urging a more detailed investigation into the issues revealed by the survey.

Urgent Calls for Election Integrity Reforms

This poll encapsulates the ongoing debate over election integrity that has persisted since the contentious 2020 presidential elections. Both Mitchell and Talgo advocate for serious considerations on electoral reform aimed at safeguarding the vote against fraud and ensuring that only eligible citizens participate in the electoral process.

The revelation of these concerns underscores the urgency for comprehensive measures to refine and reinforce the electoral framework to uphold the principle of fair democratic processes.
