Martin Shkreli, the controversial figure known as 'Pharma Bro', is stirring headlines again with a new revelation.
According to Daily Mail, in a bold declaration, Shkreli claims he collaboratively developed the DJT crypto token with Barron Trump, a highly capitalizable cryptocurrency initiative.
Launched in April 2024, the DJT crypto token swiftly captured market interest, pushing its valuation to over $150 million. According to Martin Shkreli, the project was spearheaded by Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, and had received the senior Trump's blessing.
ZachXBT, a renowned cryptocurrency investigator, confirmed Shkreli's involvement after claiming a $150,000 reward from a crypto research entity. This supported Shkreli's assertions about his significant role in developing the token, which is symbolized by DJT and showcased with a gold coin emblazoned with Donald Trump’s profile.
Despite his past entanglement in legal issues resulting in prison time during 2018-2022, Shkreli insists on his credibility. He holds that the operation is under the steerage of the Trumps, particularly highlighting Barron Trump’s active involvement.
Martin Shkreli maintains he is not the principal controller of the DJT token, positioning the Trump family—as asserted by Barron Trump—at the helm. However, the Trump family has so far remained silent regarding their alleged partnership in this cryptocurrency venture.
Shkreli has been upfront about his financial interests in the venture. He described his interaction with Barron Trump about potential future profits from DJT and his expectations from these communications.
I told Baron that if he made a ton of money from this afterward, he could break me off a low single-digit percentage. If he wanted to, it was not obligatory," said Martin Shkreli.
Martin Shkreli enunciated his rationale behind expecting a slice of the profits, emphasizing his involvement: "If this thing reached a billion dollars, I think I should get something, but I wasn’t sitting here counting dollars," he expounded. "But if this got to billions and billions, sure. I mean, I helped make it. Why not get some? It wasn’t some crazy financial incentive."
Shkreli’s claims include having 'over 1000 pieces of evidence' that he created the DJT token with Barron Trump, and has receipts that show Donald Trump's approval.
"We're friends, he wants to make money," Shkreli mentioned about his relationship with Barron Trump, hinting at a more personal connection influencing their business dealings.
The involvement of Shkreli and the Trumps has garnered skepticism, particularly from figures close to the Trump circle. Notably, Roger Stone, a Trump ally, vehemently denied any involvement of the Trump family with the DJT token.
The DJT token's sudden rise in value, coupled with the tantalizing narrative of a former president's family embroiled in its inception, continues to intensify scrutiny and public interest.
As the tale of the DJT token unfolds, observers and stakeholders eagerly await any form of confirmation or repudiation from the Trump family regarding their supposed roles in this high-stakes cryptocurrency scheme. Whether Martin Shkreli's assertions hold any weight remains a subject of fiery debate and conjecture.
