An assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally led to multiple casualties and showcased grave security failings.
Thomas Matthew Crooks targeted the former president, using guns and explosives before being neutralized by the Secret Service, with new footage revealing warnings made to law enforcement about his presence even before shots were fired.
Before the violence erupted, Crooks was identified as a suspicious individual by multiple individuals. According to emergency services, Crooks was last seen placing a bookbag down after arriving on a bicycle. "That’s the one who sent the original pictures and seen him come from the bike and set the bookbag down and then lost sight of him,” an officer detailed during an analysis of the scene.
