Once again, the Biden administration has made a hire that checks a box rather than putting a qualified and vetted professional in the position.
We are speaking of Tyler Cherry, the new Associate Communications Director for the White House.

When Tyler Cherry was named to the post, the internet sleuths immediately went to work digging into his past, and what they found was pretty disturbing. Cherry made the mistake of not having his accounts scrubbed before he took the post, which is what we usually see. This would come back to haunt Cherry, and now the Biden administration is being hit with requests to justify hiring someone who appears to be a radical and a clear antisemite.
For instance, in July 2014, Cherry posted:
"Cheersing in bars to ending the occupation of Palestine – no shame and f--- your glares #ISupportGaza #FreePalestine."
Then, in 2015, as rioting was going on around the country after the death of Freddie Gray, Cherry posted:
"Praying for #Baltimore, but praying even harder for an end to a capitalistic police state motivated by explicit and implicit racial biases."
Several months later, he commented on the subject again, posting:
"Apt (sic.) time to recall that the modern day police system is a direct evolution of slave patrols and lynch mobs."
Typically, when a hire like this is going to be made, these individuals hire a paid cleanup specialist to go through the social media accounts and scrub any post before the name even comes out to prevent people from checking the account and screenshotting controversial posts. Unfortunately for Cherry, that was not done until after the announcement was made.
Social Blade noted that nearly 2,500 posts on Cherry's account had been deleted between Sunday night and Monday morning. This forced Cherry to make a statement regarding his previous posts and his clear anti-Israel, anti-police stance. Cherry then posted:
"Past social media posts from when I was younger do not reflect my current views. Period. I support this Administration's agenda – and will continue my communications work focused on our climate and environmental policies."
I call bullsh**. I believe if his views had changed, the posts would have either been removed or he would have made a statement before the announcement of the appointment to address those posts. Instead, they went stealth mode, and only because he was caught was a statement made. This was not lost on pro-Israel and pro-Jewish groups, who are now demanding that Biden remove Cherry from the administration. For instance, Stop Antisemitism founder Liora Rez stated:
"We're hoping this is the quickest hire and fire scenario in President Biden's administration to date.
"For the Biden administration to either A, not vet properly, or B, to vet and then approve an inner circle appointee like this… is just horrifying."
As I noted in my opening, Cherry was nothing more than Biden checking a box to fill a post rather than looking for qualified individuals. It is almost as though he simply asked department heads to find him a man who wears dresses to fill the post... that appears to be the only qualifier for this particular hire. This administration is filled with anti-Semitic liberals, but that seems to be okay with the media and Democrats right now as long as Biden gets to say he has minorities and members of the LGBTQ+ community in his administration. Biden's appointments are more about being "first" blah, blah, blah than they are qualifications. It is a disgrace, and we all know if this were a Republican, Cherry would have already been run out of town.
