Nancy Mace Reportedly Clashes with Airport Police Over Lost Car

 November 2, 2025, NEWS

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina has landed in hot water after allegedly unleashing a verbal tirade on police officers at Charleston International Airport.

Reports indicate that Mace, in a fiery confrontation, berated law enforcement over a mix-up involving her vehicle, sparking outrage and a call for an apology from a political rival, as The Daily Caller reports.

This messy episode unfolded on a Wednesday morning, though the precise date remains unclear beyond a social media post timestamped late October.

Miscommunication Sparks Airport Drama

Officers from the Charleston County Aviation Authority Police Department were stationed at the ticketing area from 6:20 a.m., on the lookout for a white BMW as instructed.

Problem is, Mace rolled up in a gray or silver BMW, and the officers didn’t spot her vehicle, leading to a missed connection.

By 7 a.m., dispatch alerted the officers that Mace had already reached the TSA checkpoint, setting the stage for a tense encounter.

Mace’s Outburst Shocks Onlookers

When officers located Mace at the checkpoint, they found her in a state of high agitation, reportedly fuming over the mix-up.

According to Officer A. Reed, “She immediately began loudly cursing and making derogatory comments to us and about the department.”

Reed added, “She repeatedly stated we were ‘fucking incompetent’ and ‘this is no way to treat a fucking US Representative,’” painting a picture of a public official seemingly unhinged by frustration.

Escalation at the Gate

The situation didn’t cool down as officers escorted Mace to gate B-8, with her alleged profanity-laced rant continuing unabated along the way.

An American Airlines gate agent, witnessing the scene, expressed sheer disbelief at Mace’s conduct, as noted in the police report.

Even TSA Supervisor Johnny Lynch chimed in, revealing that Mace had spoken to TSA agents in a similarly derogatory tone, and he intended to escalate the matter to his superiors.

Political Fallout and a Demand for Respect

The incident has ignited a firestorm, with South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, a competitor in the GOP gubernatorial primary, stepping into the fray to demand an apology from Mace.

Mace, never one to shy away from a fight, fired back on social media, deflecting Wilson’s criticism by questioning his priorities in a sharp retort that sidestepped any remorse for her alleged behavior.

While tempers flare in the political arena, the core issue remains—should a public servant’s frustration, however justified, spill over into public disrespect for those tasked with keeping us safe? It’s a question conservatives, who often champion law and order, must wrestle with, even when the figure in question aligns with many of our values. After all, supporting the badge isn’t just a slogan; it’s a principle worth defending, even when the optics are messy.
