A tragic shooting at a Michigan water park has left the community in shock.
A devastating incident unfolded at Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where Michael William Nash shot nine individuals, including two children, before committing suicide amid a police standoff.
According to the New York Post, the attack began on a busy Saturday around 5 p.m., marking a violent start to the summer vacation season. The assailant, Michael William Nash, 42, targeted visitors at the splash pad, wounding a group that ranged in age from 4 to 78 years old.
Despite having no criminal record, Nash had been struggling with mental health issues. According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, Nash lived with his mother, who was fortunately not at the scene during the crime. Because we had quick containment on him, if he had planned to do anything else, it wouldn’t surprise me.
