Michelle Obama Shuts Down Election Speculation

 March 6, 2024

For months, just about everyone under the sun with a microphone or blog has been saying that Michelle Obama would be stepping in at the last minute to run for election in place of Joe Biden.

This week, her office finally decided to make a formal announcement on the matter, shutting down all speculation that Michelle Obama would be entering the race.

Rumors and Speculation Michelle Obama Would Run for President

Virtually since Joe Biden announced his campaign for the 2024 race, there has been speculation that he would drop out and Michelle Obama would swoop in to save the day. That is all it was, however, speculation.

This was a theory promoted by conspiracy theorists like Dick Morris, Alex Jones, and the like, just as they had always done about Hillary Clinton running, which is also not going to happen. They do this to boost clicks and shares, hoping that if they throw enough junk into the fan, something might actually stick to the wall, and they can claim they had inside information.

Speculation about Michelle Obama only grew in recent weeks, with polling regarding who the American people would like to see replace Joe Biden if he were to bow out of the election. Of course, Michelle Obama was atop the polling, so that narrative blew up again as we headed into Super Tuesday.

Michelle Obama Shuts Down Speculation

Michelle Obama has commented on this before, and she made it quite clear that she had no intention of running for office. Even so, at virtually every interview she did, the question would come up, but she would shoot it down.

For instance, during a recent interview with The National, which is the Amtrak magazine, Michelle stated:

"Just between us, and the readers of this magazine — there's zero chance.

"There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It's just not for me."

Even with these denials, however, conspiracy theories about her running continued to circulate on the internet every time Joe Biden made a gaffe, or a new poll was released. So, as Super Tuesday was taking place, Michelle Obama's office decided to officially and formally address the question of her running for president in 2024.

Crystal Carson, the director of communications for Obama's office, stated:

"As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president."

Analysis

If you guys read our reports regularly, you know I have been adamant that there is no way Michelle Obama enters this race. One need only look at comments made by Michelle Obama when Barack Obama was president. She despised the White House, and quite frankly, I don't think she is too big a fan of this country overall.

Then there is the lifestyle change that Barack and Michelle Obama have enjoyed since leaving the White House. They entered as an average couple and now are among the elite rich and famous, with a net worth estimated at more than $100 million and hobnobbing with A-list celebrities, traveling wheels up, and superyachts. Simply put, there is no way they are giving that up to go back to the White House for four or eight years. So, let's put this baby to rest… Michelle Obama will not be replacing Joe Biden on the ballot. End of discussion. Full stop.
