Over the last two days, the media has been blowing up over the fact that Melania Trump was not featured in the annual Trump family Christmas photo.
There has been much speculation and rumor as to why, including the idea that she has possibly left Trump. Now we finally know why, and the outlets that reported anything remotely close to marital problems are being made to look foolish.
All you need to do to see how blown out of proportion this story was is to Google "Melania missing from family photo" and you will see how many outlets reported this.
For instance, Newsweek ran a story titled "Donald Trump's Family Christmas Photo Raises Questions." It went on to post comments from random X users offering up their two cents on why Melania was not there. This included people commenting on why the couples were not standing together, which they believed was "to detract Melania's absence."
As it turns out, there was an excellent reason that Melania was not featured in the photo.
As it turns out, Melania's mother, Amalija Knavs, whom she is very close to, is in the hospital, apparently very ill, so Melania went to spend time with her,
A family source told Fox News Digital:
"Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family. It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother."
The mainstream media loves to make mountains out of molehills, especially when it comes to Trump. They are also quite fond of trying to find a problem with Melania, so this little buzz was not unexpected when she was missing from the photograph.
This is especially true due to the fact that Melania has been in the background during most of this campaign, as well as Trump's legal problems. However, anyone who has followed her time with Trump knows that even though she was a model, Melania is quite shy, preferring to avoid the cameras when she is not posing in front of them for her modeling career.
We should note, however, that Melania is expected to start showing a more significant presence if Trump secures the nomination, which has been confirmed by a family source who stated:
"Melania realizes it's her time to join the ranks of historic First Ladies and leave her mark on history … she feels better prepared for her potential role the second time around."
Quite frankly, considering how the mainstream media has treated her during Trum's first campaign and presidency, I cannot blame her for hiding from the media.
