Melania Trump and Barron Trump made their first public appearance following the former President's recent conviction, stepping out in New York City.
Melania Trump was photographed by the New York Post as she exited Trump Tower and got into a Secret Service SUV. Following her was 18-year-old Barron, who looked poised in a fitted blue suit, Western Journal reported.
According to the Post, this appearance marked the first time in nearly two weeks that Melania had left her Manhattan penthouse, where she had been staying during her husband’s trial.
Former President Trump commented on the toll the trial has taken on his family. He said he believes Melania and Barron have endured more hardship than he has. “I think in many ways it’s tougher on them than it is on me,” Trump stated during an interview with “Fox & Friends Weekend” aired on Sunday.
The former President expressed that the trial has been particularly hard on his wife due to the malicious gossip surrounding the case. He mentioned that Melania has been handling the situation admirably despite the challenging circumstances.
“She’s fine, but I think it’s very hard for her … she has to read all this crap,” Trump said. Trump also shared his thoughts on how his teenage son Barron is coping, describing him as “amazing.”
“He’s tall, good-looking. He’s a very good student,” Trump proudly told “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
“He’s applied to colleges and gets into everywhere he goes, you know? He’s a very smart guy … And he’s a great kid. He’s cool. He’s pretty cool,” Trump added with evident pride.
Last week, a Manhattan jury convicted Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential campaign. The conviction has been met with significant criticism from legal experts who believe it will be overturned on appeal.
Despite the conviction, Trump remains optimistic and appears to be thriving amid the chaos. The former president is scheduled for sentencing on July 11, just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Supporters of Trump have rallied around him, galvanized by what they see as a politically motivated trial. This sentiment has only strengthened his position as the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 election.
Throughout this ordeal, Melania and Barron have shown resilience. The former First Lady’s ability to manage the media scrutiny has not gone unnoticed. Trump's comments highlight the strength and unity within his family during this tumultuous time.
