Mark Cuban, the famed entrepreneur and minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks has been spotted removing posts praising Vice President Kamala Harris following her recent electoral defeat.
According to Fox News, These deletions come in the wake of Harris losing the presidential race to Donald Trump.
In a social media bout triggered by observers on X, formerly known as Twitter, Cuban was seen purging his previous endorsements of Harris. This drew attention and critique, particularly from users who spotted the deletions and began speculating on his motives.
Responding directly to inquiries about these actions, Mark Cuban addressed the issue by acknowledging his habitual practice of deleting tweets. "I’ve always gone back and deleted tweets. For years. Same with the 2020 election. 2016 election. Same with other stuff. You can use the Wayback machine if you want to see them," Cuban explained, dismissing the idea that the deletions were politically motivated.
Mark Cuban further remarked on his post-election behavior, congratulating both Donald Trump for his victory and Elon Musk, without specifying the reason for lauding Musk. "Congrats to @ElonMusk as well. #Godspeed," noted Cuban in a series of posts following the election result.
Vice President Harris’ campaign, where Cuban actively engaged by speaking to Black and Latino small business leaders at a town hall in Phoenix, has surprised some of his followers with his recent online actions.
During the 2020 presidency, Cuban aided the Trump administration with healthcare challenges, particularly by securing personal protective equipment. This cooperation, he suggested, could continue.
In an act of public openness about his presidential preference, Cuban stated, "If Trump wins, last time when he won, he asked me to help on healthcare, on PPE [personal protective equipment], I sat with Peter Navarro and helped him come up with a mask company and helped them grow. That was all domestic production. I’ll do the same thing. I’m America first," he declared, indicating his forward-looking stance toward collaborating irrespective of political differences.
Furthermore, Cuban had developed an application designed to automatically delete posts, which was active until its discontinuation in 2021. This adds layers to his practice of managing social media footprints.
The decision to erase the posts also follows a stint of controversial remarks made by Cuban against Trump on the talk show "The View," which he later expressed regret about.
Taking a reconciliatory tone after the elections, Cuban reached out directly via X to congratulate Trump: "Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square," signaling a willingness to bridge political divides.
As Mark Cuban faces scrutiny over his deletion of supportive tweets for Vice President Harris, his responses underline a consistent approach to post-election actions.
Ultimately, Cubans' blend of regret over past comments and compliments to Trump, combined with his readiness to assist in healthcare management, sketches a complex picture of his political maneuvering post-election.
