The cause of death for Lucy-Bleu Knight, the 25-year-old stepdaughter of Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, has been revealed.
According to Fox News, the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office determined that Knight died from "hydrogen sulfide toxicity" and ruled her death a suicide.
Knight passed away on July 19, 2024, in Los Angeles. The news of her death was initially announced by Slash in a statement shared on social media on July 21. The guitarist described Knight as "an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul."
Hydrogen sulfide, the substance responsible for Knight's death, is described by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a "colorless, flammable, highly toxic" gas. The CDC warns that inhalation of high concentrations of this gas can lead to "extremely rapid unconsciousness and death."
