Dr. Anthony Fauci has finished his second day of testifying behind closed doors to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
According to lawmakers, Fauci admitted that the six-foot number for social distancing was based on no scientific data.
Talking Points…

- Analysis
When the pandemic hit the country, Dr. Anthony Fauci was Donald Trump’s “go-to” guy in the early stages. Almost everything Fauci recommended was followed, including social distancing and a complete shutdown of the country for 15 days, which turned into months.
Throughout the pandemic, Senator Rand Pual (R-KY) regularly challenged Dr. Fauci, demanding data to back up the recommendations being made, with the two of them having epic back-and-forth encounters whenever Fauci was called to the Hill to testify.
If the reporting on Fauci’s testimony this week is accurate, Fauci painted a far different picture of the pandemic restrictions than when he was in office.
After Fauci’s testimony was done, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic blew up the internet with a summary of Fauci’s testimony, starting off by debunking the six-foot social distancing rule, saying that Fauci testified, “It just sort of appeared.”
Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) published a summary of Fauci’s comments, stating:
“During his interview today, Dr. Fauci claimed that the policies and mandates he promoted may unfortunately increase vaccine hesitancy for years to come.
“Further, the social distancing recommendations forced on Americans ‘sort of just appeared’ and were likely not based on scientific data.”

It was also noted that although Fauci pushed back against the lab-leak theory his entire time in office during and after the pandemic, “Dr. Fauci acknowledged that the lab-leak hypothesis is not a conspiracy theory.”
This is not only an issue for Dr. Fauci, but it will also be an issue for Donald Trump during this election. I believe it is the primary reason he did not want to debate other presidential candidates.
Contrary to the narrative that Trump has been pushing, Dr. Fauci called the shots early on, and Trump took his recommendation to close schools and shut down the economy, which just devastated small businesses and the American people, eventually leading to a massive spending bill to try to inject money back into the economy.
You can bank on the fact that Trump’s primary opponents will use this against him. However, if Trump makes it out of the primary with the nomination, all of this becomes moot because Joe Biden was taking his advice from the same person… Dr. Anthony Fauci.
