Kim Delaney, admired for her role in "NYPD Blue," finds herself at the center of a recent controversy.

According to CBS News Los Angeles, Emmy-winning actress Kim Delaney and James Morgan will not face criminal charges following their arrests in Marina Del Rey due to insufficient evidence, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday.

The "NYPD Blue" star, 63, and Morgan were involved in a domestic dispute that led to their arrest on March 29. Delaney was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, while Morgan faced battery charges.

Details of the Marina Del Rey incident

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Marquesas Way around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The nature of the dispute that prompted the emergency response remains unclear in official reports.

Morgan was released from custody by Sunday evening after posting a $20,000 bond. Delaney remained in custody until Tuesday morning, when she was released at 10:45 a.m., according to county records.

The District Attorney's Office spokesperson, Pamela Johnson, issued a statement explaining their decision not to pursue charges against either party. The case was dismissed primarily due to a lack of sufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution.

Delaney's acclaimed acting career

The actress has built an impressive television career spanning several decades.

Her portrayal of Detective Diane Russell on ABC's "NYPD Blue" earned her widespread recognition and a Primetime Emmy Award in 1997.

Beyond her acclaimed role in "NYPD Blue," Delaney has maintained a strong presence in television drama. She has taken on significant roles in various popular series, including "General Hospital," "Army Wives," and "All My Children."

Her contributions to television have solidified her position as a respected figure in the entertainment industry. The Emmy win in 1997 marked a highlight in her career, showcasing her talent and dedication to the craft.

Resolution brings closure

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office concluded its review of the case promptly. The decision not to file charges against either Delaney or Morgan effectively closes this chapter of legal uncertainty.

Both parties are now free to move forward following their brief encounter with law enforcement. The incident, while drawing public attention, has been resolved without formal legal consequences.

The Marina Del Rey community, where the incident took place, can also return to normal following the brief disruption caused by the police response and subsequent media attention.
