Justin Timberlake Postpones Oklahoma City Show Due To Back Injury

 December 1, 2024

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake has once again had to cancel a concert, this time in Oklahoma City, due to health concerns.

Justin Timberlake was forced to cancel his December 2 concert at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City because of a back injury he suffered during a previous performance in New Orleans, Fox News reported.

Justin Timberlake, 43, conveyed his disappointment on Instagram, where he addressed the impact of his recent injury. He apologized to his fans, highlighting his reluctance to cancel any show unless absolutely necessary.

Last seen performing in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Theater on November 25, Timberlake's health issues have become a recurrent challenge during his ongoing world tour, named "The Forget Tomorrow World Tour."

Tour Disruptions Extend Beyond Oklahoma

Earlier in the tour, Timberlake had to postpone several concerts due to cases of bronchitis and laryngitis.

This led to the rescheduling of his performances across various U.S. cities including Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Columbus, now moved to February 2025.

Moreover, Timberlake faced a similar situation on October 8 in Newark, New Jersey, canceling the show abruptly just 30 minutes before the scheduled start. Fortunately, he managed to perform at the rescheduled Newark concert a week later.

Following his post regarding the most recent cancellation, Timberlake shared:

"I’m so sorry Oklahoma City, I have to cancel the show on 12/2. I hurt my back in Nola and my doctors have instructed me to rest a little bit longer. Thank you for your support — y’all know I hate doing this."

Fans Voice Frustrations Over Short Notice Cancellations

The string of unexpected cancellations has led to quite a bit of frustration among fans, many of whom have traveled or modified personal schedules to attend.

One fan’s public disappointments highlighted the inconveniences: "Everyone going is 30+… we have full-time jobs, kids, families, etc. We had to mentally prepare to stay up late, find childcare and pet sitters, take off of work to travel in," shared another fan, stressing how disruptive such cancellations can be.

Despite the setbacks, Justin Timberlake's tour, which marks his return to large-scale touring after a five-year hiatus, has had its high points. It began on April 29 in Vancouver, Canada, and spans North America, South America, and Europe with its conclusion set for July.

Fans eagerly await the rearranged dates while focusing on Timberlake's next scheduled performance at the Toyota Center in Houston on December 4. The tour will then pause for a brief hiatus starting December 20 and will resume on January 13 after the holiday break.

In conclusion, while health issues have led to multiple concert withdrawals for Justin Timberlake, the pop star remains committed to resuming his tour schedule as soon as possible. Fans continue to show their support even amidst the disappointment, eagerly awaiting his recovery and return to the stage.
