According to Fox News, Vieira passed away late on April 7, just moments before he would have celebrated his 81st birthday.
The actor, born on April 8, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, succumbed surrounded by his loved ones. He was admitted into hospice care shortly before his death, which was brief, lasting less than 24 hours.

In the wake of his passing, the cause of Vieira's death has not been disclosed. His daughter, Shanyn, announced the news of his death to Laurie Jacobso, the Provost, the morning after he died.
