Hunter Biden Attorney Blasts DOJ for Mischaracterizing Picture

 February 21, 2024

Last week, the DOJ released pictures regarding Hunter Biden's indictment.

One of those photos showed what appeared to be cocaine and some crack paraphernalia. It turns out the "cocaine" picture may have been mischaracterized.

Talking Points…
- DOJ releases pictures
- Hunter's attorneys strike back

DOJ Releases Pictures

The Department of Justice filing showed photos that were captured on Hunter Biden's phone, among them a picture of what appeared to be cocaine and paraphernalia to smoke crack. It stated:

"Prior to October 12, 2018 (the date of the gun purchase), the defendant took photos of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on his phone.

"Also prior to his gun purchase, the defendant routinely sent messages about purchasing drugs."

The post below shows some of the pictures that were included in the filing…

Hunter Attorney's Strike Back

When we reported on this, we were going by what the DOJ stated, but upon closer inspection of the picture on the left, it seems pretty clear that it was only sawdust that was made to look like cocaine, which was the line of attack that Hunter's attorneys took in calling out the DOJ.

According to Hunter's attorneys, that was a picture that Hunter received from his then-psychiatrist, Dr. Keith Ablow. The picture was allegedly from another patient of his who was a "coke addict" and "master carpenter." The message that accompanied the photo was that Hunter could also "overcome any addiction."

Hunter's attorneys responded to the DOJ filing, stating:

"Mistaking sawdust for cocaine sounds more like a storyline from one of the 1980s Police Academy comedies than what should be expected in a high-profile prosecution by the U.S. Department of Justice."

Analysis

There have been several flubs in this Hunter Biden case already, so the DOJ and Republicans cannot afford to have another one. The real hit for Republicans was the FBI informant being charged for having lied to agents about the alleged $10 million payment from Burisma officials to Joe and Hunter Biden to have the Ukraine prosecuting attorney fired.

When the DOJ published that picture, the GOP jumped all over it, as did most conservative publications, but nobody really took a hard look at those alleged cocaine lines, including myself. Once you really look at the picture, it is either dirty cocaine or, more likely, sawdust, just as Hunter Biden's attorneys stated.

Now, we all know Hunter was an addict, but these are the types of mistakes that feed the narrative he is being wrongly prosecuted, which, I assure you, is not the case. Hunter broke the law on many different fronts, but that is not what dominates headlines. The mistakes get all the more attention, which is why we all need to do a better job on this front. Being conservatives, we do not get the benefit of a mistake like Democrats, and there is more than enough "real" evidence to bury Hunter and Joe Biden.
