Hunter Biden Accused Of Perjury By House GOP In Congressional Testimony

 May 22, 2024

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is under scrutiny from House Republicans.

As Fox News reported, allegations suggest Hunter Biden committed perjury during his deposition before Congress, misleading about his international business engagements.

During a recent session, the House Ways & Means Committee, under Republican Congressman Jason Smith, addressed serious charges against Hunter Biden. The Committee voted to unveil documents formerly shielded by IRS code 6103, which detail these allegations.

Financial Dealings of Hunter Biden Called into Question

One of the critical accusations is that Hunter Biden attempted to secure $10 million from a Chinese energy company, leveraging his familial ties for financial gain. As described in the documents, this deal involved bold assertions about his influence.

In addition to these allegations, Hunter Biden faces legal challenges on other fronts. He has pleaded not guilty to federal gun and tax evasion charges in district courts in Delaware and California.

The seriousness of these charges saw IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler testify earlier this year that political influence had thwarted fair prosecutorial decisions concerning Hunter Biden's financial discrepancies from 2014 and 2015. Their testimonies suggest that these were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern extending over several years.

Assertions of Unequal Justice in Hunter Biden's Case

Congressman Jason Smith expressed his concerns about a perceived dual justice system, emphasizing that their investigation aims to uphold the law equally, irrespective of one's status.

House Republicans argue that the disclosed documents unveil a misleading pattern in Hunter Biden's business declarations, including undervalued income from foreign entities and a systematic approach to falsifying four-year tax reports. This purportedly includes the omission of approximately $400,000 in income from Burisma Holdings when he joined its board in 2014.

These revelations, brought to light by the House committee, have intensified debates over Hunter Biden's dealings and the potential misuse of his family's stature for personal profit.

Influence Allegations and Public Outcry

One particularly telling piece of evidence is a communication purportedly from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao. In it, Hunter Biden expressed dissatisfaction with a commitment breach, hinting at negative consequences if ignored.

Reacting to these accusations, Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, criticized the committee's actions, suggesting they were motivated by political goals rather than justice. "Here they go again, grasping at straws and twisting Hunter’s testimony to try to revive an impeachment inquiry that was a complete and utter failure," said Lowell.

Nonetheless, these disclosures and the ensuing legal battles underscore a significant controversy in U.S. politics, highlighting the ongoing struggle over perceptions of justice and accountability at the highest levels of government.

In these complex and contentious times, the final word on Hunter Biden's case will likely come through courtroom deliberations and the court of public opinion, giving a stirring testament to the polarized views of justice and political power in America.
