House Looking to Censure Omar Over ‘Pro-genocide’ Jews Comment

 May 8, 2024

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has managed to get herself into trouble again.

Omar is facing yet another censure in the House, this time over disparaging comments made about Jewish students on college campuses.

Talking Points…
- Omar's antisemitic comments
- House censure effort

Omar's Makes Pro-Genocide Comments About Jewish Students

While not attending Columbia University, Rep. Omar's daughter was on the campus for a pro-Palestine protest. Her daughter was eventually part of a clean-up sweep, getting arrested for trespassing. Dems tried to make this out as though it was some revenge arrest for the stance that Omar was taking regarding Israel, but that was not the case.

That, however, did not stop Omar from spewing her hateful rhetoric again. We all know she has a long history of making disgusting comments about Israel and the Jewish people, and she added another one to that list with comments while visiting the protesters at Columbia. During her visit, Omar stated:

"I think it is really unfortunate that people don't care about the fact that all Jewish kids should be kept safe, and that we should not have to tolerate antisemitism or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they're pro-genocide or anti-genocide."

The comment drew instant criticism, with the Anti-Defamation League calling the remarks "blood libel" while Democrats scrambled to spin the comment. Republicans, however, were not sitting back and immediately went on the attack against Omar and her fellow extremists in the Democrat Party.

Censure Effort in House

Omar's comments have been the focus of rants on the Hill over the last two weeks, which led to Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) getting ready to introduce a resolution to censure Omar over her comments. This is far from the first time that Omar has been censured, and it will surely not be her last, as she has made it quite clear that she hates Israel and Jewish people in general.

Bacon is leading the latest effort, however, telling the media:

"To generalize, to say that the Jewish students are responsible for this and treat them that way, that is antisemitism, right? It's one thing to protest Israel, but to stretch it over and accost Jewish students is wrong.

"I'm working on a bill right now to call out Omar for what she said. She's talking about pro-genocide or anti-genocide Jewish students…all this talk is all wrong because Jewish Americans are Americans. Quit treating them that way."

Omar's team has since responded:

"Attempts to misconstrue her words by drafting this baseless resolution are meant to distract from the ongoing violence and genocide occurring in Gaza and the large antiwar protests happening across our country and around the world."

Analysis

First, Omar's office's statement is utterly ridiculous, as nobody is twisting her words. She implied that Jewish students are pro-genocide, period. Secondly, Israel is not committing genocide against the Palestinian people. This is war, and Palestine has been harboring a terrorist group. It has also refused to help Israel fight Hamas, which, by default, makes Palestine a terror state.

In my opinion, Omar has no place in the United States Congress. She and several of her fellow Squad members are clearly terrorist sympathizers and treat our allies like enemies. Yet, they all continue to win re-election, which shows the sad state of this country at the current time. I have always stated that the best way to defeat an enemy is to penetrate the organization from within, and if you ask me, that is what our enemies and adversaries have done.
