The media and Democrats, for the last two years, have been trying to show that Donald Trump wanted to use the military to stay in power.
They have never been able to prove that because it never happened. During a recent interview, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Milley tried to put that narrative to bed.
This is and always has been the big one for Democrats and the media. If they could prove that Trump was putting the pieces in play to use the military to stay in power, they know they would have him dead to rights.
Whether you support Trump or not, we cannot allow what Democrats and the media think happened to be made into truth, as they have so many times before.
This question has been asked and answered many times before, including by General Milley, who has no love for Trump. Yet, once again, the question was put before Milley.
Milley was being interviewed by ABC News's Martha Raddatz when the question came up again.
Raddatz asked Milley if Trump ordered him to use our military to ensure that he stayed in power after the 2020 election.
Milley responded:
"I argued the case at various times for alternative courses of action, never received an illegal order."
Milley was later asked if he thought something like the Capitol riot would ever occur again.
He responded, "I am confident that the United States, the democracy of this country, will prevail, and the rule of law will prevail."
"I'm absolutely confident of that. And these institutions are built to be strong and resilient and to adapt to the times, and I'm 100 percent confident we'll be fine.
As I noted above, the media has been playing "gotcha" with Trump since he became the frontrunner in the 2016 election.
Trump did a lot of things after the election that have angered many people and rallied others, but he has yet to be proven to have done anything illegal, especially on this front.
The man is now on trial for charges related to both January 6 and election fraud, but not once has he been charged with insurrection or ordering the military to hold the White House so he could remain in power.
I believe there is enough on his plate to defend himself against without the media piling on lies.
