Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, a long-time Democrat, has officially changed his party registration to Republican, Fox News reported.
Alex Villanueva made his announcement during the Unite Inland Empire Conservative Conference on a Saturday. The former sheriff further publicized his switch on the social media platform X, highlighting his long tenure as a Democrat and his new allegiance to the Republican Party.

Alex Villanueva served as the Los Angeles County Sheriff from 2018 until 2022. His tenure ended when he conceded the election to Robert Luna following the results of the November 2022 elections.
