After the failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump, Republicans were angry, and rightfully so.
Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), who is believed to be on the very short list of finalists to be Trump’s VP, called out Democrats, a move that former Obama adviser David Axelrod believes should disqualify him.

Only hours after the failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump, Vance went nuclear on Democrats, blaming their rhetoric on the assassination attempt against Donald Trump. He posted:
"Today is not just some isolated incident.
"The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump's attempted assassination."
To Vance’s point, after a longtime Democrat posted that Dems needed to resign themselves to the fact that the failed assassination attempt was going to lead to a second term for Trump, AOC responded by calling a second Trump term “fascist.” It is their calling card to create chaos and encourage violence. And it worked because that word triggers this young generation of participation trophies and timeouts.
Axelrod got bent out of shape for Vance posting the truth, and responded:
“If @JDVance1 is on the shortlist for VP, this Tweet, sent an hour after the assassination attempt in PA, ought to disqualify him in the eyes of the Trump campaign.
“As we now are learning, the gunman’s profile doesn’t seem to match Vance’s premise. But at least wait and see! Trump probably doesn’t want a shoot-from-the-hip VP.”
Perhaps it was Axelrod who should have held his tongue because even though the shooter was reportedly a registered Republican in the one election where he voted, he had donated to some very liberal causes since. And for the record, the FBI is still investigating the shooter to try to find his exact motive, but if this was truly politically motivated, does anyone reading this really believe the FBI would report that knowing the damage it would do to the Democrat Party and Joe Biden?
Sometimes, the truth hurts, and Axelrod was clearly hurt after Vance posted that very blunt truth.
For nearly a decade, the media and Democrats have painted Trump as an orange monster who is racist, homophobic, sexist, and every other “ic” an “ist” term you can think of, and they act as though they are shocked when someone tries to take Trump’s life.
Anytime Trump utters a word associated with violence, such as his “bloodbath” comment, the media cannot wait to twist it and say he is encouraging violence. Yet, Joe Biden literally talked about putting a “bullseye” on Trump, and the media could care less. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) encouraged her supporters to get in the face of Trump officials when they are out in public. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-CA) literally threatened conservative justices on the steps of the Supreme Court, and all that seems to be okay.
When the media should have been looking at comments made by Democrats to support violence against Trump, they instead blamed Trump’s rhetoric for the assassination attempt, giving Democrats a free pass. This is the same party that continues to pump the message that if Trump is elected, it will be the end of democracy.
Do they seriously want us to believe that the message did not resonate with at least one maniac to the point he felt he needed to end Trump to save our democracy (which is actually a constitutional republic)?
