According to Tipp Insights, the Federal Election Commission has launched an inquiry into alleged irregularities concerning donations to the 2024 campaign of Rep. Jasmine Crockett, processed through the Democratic fundraising tool ActBlue.
The Coolidge-Reagan Foundation, a conservative advocacy group, submitted a formal grievance on March 26, prompting this investigation. This followed the discovery of questionable transactions linked to Crockett's campaign fundraising efforts.
Among the questionable activities cited in the complaint are numerous donations allegedly made by Randy Best, a senior citizen from Texas. Mr. Best reportedly donated a sum of $595 across 53 transactions. However, there is a notable clash with this claim as his wife has reportedly denied any knowledge of these contributions.
The FEC, represented by its assistant general counsel, Wanda D. Brown, confirmed that the case was under review. "The respondents will be notified of this complaint within five business days," Brown stated, emphasizing the procedural steps being taken following the initial complaint.
ActBlue, the platform used for these transactions, has been a focal point not only in this case but also in other probes carried out by Republican state attorneys general and a GOP-led congressional committee.

Dan Backer, representing the Coolidge-Reagan Foundation, expressed concerns about due diligence. He suggested, “The treasurer could say, ‘We had absolute confidence in ActBlue.’ But ActBlue has been under investigation by state and federal authorities. That excuse might have worked a year ago.”
