Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and Joe Biden want Americans to believe that everything is under control at the border.
FBI Director Wray is not on the same page, ringing a deafening bell on the Hill this week regarding terrorist activity at the border as well as the overwhelming number of gotaways we have seen.
FBI Director Christopher Wray was on the Hill this week to testify before the House Homeland Security Committee.
He dropped several bombshells that surely will have the White House squirming, one of the big ones being the concern about gotaways at the border.
Wray was asked:
"Can the FBI guarantee American people that known or suspected terrorists, including any from Hamas or other terror groups, are not amongst those gotaways?"
"Well, certainly the group of people that you're talking about are source of great concern for us. That's why we're aggressively using all 56 of our joint terrorism task forces."
Every time there is an uptick in terrorist activity around the world, law enforcement officials are worried about lone actors getting some crazy idea to carry out an attack on U.S. soil.
The attack against Israel by Hamas has everyone's ears up, including Director Wray.
"When we talk about the greatest threat to the homeland, the greatest threat to the homeland is lone or small groups, typically radicalized online, using easily accessible weapons to attack soft targets."
The biggest misconception in politics today is immigration and how conservatives feel about it.
The only demand conservatives have ever made on this front is that immigration is legal and controlled.
There is not a nation on this planet that can withstand unfettered border crossings for years on end without it putting a massive strain on resources and entitlement programs, not to mention the impact it has on the jobs market.
The United States has gone from a few hundred thousand illegal crossings a year to millions, with estimates as high as six million crossings in Biden's first two-plus years in office, possibly more.
The gotaways are very much a threat because we don't know who they are or their plans.
Human traffickers moving terrorists across the border will gladly send a large group to an area that is known to be patrolled to occupy Border Patrol while they sneak the most dangerous people across the border through tunnels or in other areas not patrolled as well.
This would include terrorists, gun runners, and drug mules.
When you listen to Wray, testify, however, it is infuriating that he is measuring his words in a manner so as not to upset the administration when his real concern needs to be the threat to national security and the safety of the American people.
The border is an issue that the media can no longer ignore, and the agencies responsible need to stop covering for this administration and tell the American people the cold, hard truth.
