A highly decorated Army member's troubled past emerges through the revelations of a former neighbor in Colorado Springs.

According to the New York Post, Matthew Livelsberger, who recently detonated explosives in a Tesla Cybertruck outside Trump's Las Vegas hotel before taking his own life, had a history of concerning behavior towards his first wife, Sara.

The story of Livelsberger's personal life unfolds through the account of Stacie Wilssens, who lived next door to the couple around 2012. Wilssens described Livelsberger as "bizarre and unhealthy," painting a troubling picture of his relationship with Sara. Their marriage, marked by instability and conflicting political views, eventually ended in divorce in 2018.

Marriage Troubles and Behavioral Patterns Emerge From Past

Wilssens, who preferred spending time with Sara during Livelsberger's military deployments, shared disturbing details about their relationship. The military man's treatment of his then-wife included mocking her struggles with depression while she attempted to improve her mental health.

The couple's fundamental differences extended beyond personal matters into political territory, with Sara supporting Bernie Sanders and Livelsberger backing Donald Trump during the 2016 election.

A 2016 video posted on Sara's Facebook page captured interactions between the couple. In the footage, Livelsberger was heard warning his wife about "embarrassing" him at the airport. This public documentation added weight to Wilssens' characterization of their relationship dynamic.

Following their 2018 divorce, Sara relocated from Colorado and found happiness in a new marriage. Sources indicate she has since achieved better mental health and stability in her life.

Recent Events Leading to Tragic New Year's Day Incident

Livelsberger's second marriage in 2022 also ended in separation, with his current wife confronting him about alleged infidelity just days before the bombing. The confrontation prompted him to leave their Colorado Springs home the day after Christmas. He subsequently rented a Tesla Cybertruck through the Turo app and drove to Las Vegas.

The FBI is currently investigating multiple angles of the incident, including potential personal or political motives. Special attention is being paid to Livelsberger's choice of location and vehicle, given the Trump hotel connection and the Tesla brand's association with Elon Musk. Spencer Evans, the Las Vegas FBI's special agent in charge, provided insight into their investigation:

It's not lost on us that it's in front of the Trump building, that it's a Tesla vehicle, but we don't have information at this point that definitively tells us or suggests it was because of this particular ideology

Livelsberger, a Green Beret, had recently returned from deployment in Germany and was on approved leave at the time of the incident.

Complex Web of Personal and Political Elements Unfolds

Authorities continue to piece together events that led to the tragic explosion outside Trump's Las Vegas hotel. The investigation involves examining Livelsberger's military background, personal relationships, and potential motivations behind his final actions. Law enforcement sources revealed the recent marital difficulties with his second wife, with whom he shared a baby daughter.

The Army member's personal and professional lives present a complex narrative spanning multiple relationships, military service, and, ultimately, his final destructive act. His choice of location and method has sparked questions about possible political motivations, though investigators remain cautious about drawing definitive conclusions.

Matthew Livelsberger, whose troubled relationships and final actions have captured national attention, died by suicide after detonating explosives in a rented Cybertruck outside Trump's Las Vegas hotel on New Year's Day. The former Green Beret's actions followed the breakdown of his second marriage and came years after a first marriage marked by concerning behavior.
