Ex-Biden Aides Summoned Over Alleged Health Cover-Up

 June 28, 2025, NEWS

Congress is digging into what might be one of the biggest political shell games in recent memory. The House Oversight Committee has called four senior Biden White House aides to testify about an alleged cover-up of President Biden’s cognitive decline. If true, this could reveal a troubling lack of transparency from those closest to the Oval Office.

According to the New York Post, the investigation, spearheaded by Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), seeks to uncover whether Biden’s inner circle deliberately misrepresented his mental fitness to the American public and media.

This probe kicked off with a request on a recent Friday for four key figures to step into the hot seat. Among them are former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s last chief of staff Jeff Zients, Jean-Pierre’s deputy Andrew Bates, and former White House counsel’s office spokesman Ian Sams. It’s a lineup that could spill some serious tea—or at least raise eyebrows about who knew what and when.

Uncovering the Inner Circle’s Secrets

Adding a twist to the tale, Karine Jean-Pierre has a tell-all book on the horizon, promising to dish on what she calls a “broken” administration. One can’t help but wonder if her pages will match the testimony—or if they’ll just be another carefully curated narrative.

Earlier in the week, on a Tuesday, the committee interviewed Neera Tanden, Biden’s former domestic policy adviser and staff secretary. Tanden, one of the select few with autopen authority for official documents, offered a curious glimpse into the administration’s inner workings.

According to Republican accounts, Tanden claimed she rarely dealt with Biden directly, instead routing memos to other senior aides for autopen decisions and awaiting their instructions. This begs the question: just who was calling the shots if not the man at the top? It’s a puzzle that could unravel some uncomfortable truths.

Questions Mount on Biden’s Directives

Chairman Comer isn’t pulling punches, and his frustration with the administration’s opacity is palpable. “President Biden’s inner circle repeatedly told the American people that he was ‘sharp as ever,’” Comer said. Well, if sharp means dodging direct questions, they might’ve been onto something.

Comer didn’t stop there. “They fed these false talking points to progressive allies and the media, who helped perpetuate that President Biden was fit to serve,” he added. If this investigation proves a coordinated effort to mislead, it’s a stark reminder that trust in leadership isn’t just earned—it’s expected.

By Thursday, Comer upped the ante, issuing a subpoena to Anthony Bernal, who leads Biden’s post-presidential transition office. Bernal, reportedly dubbed a “work husband” by former first lady Jill Biden, had initially agreed to testify voluntarily but backed out, prompting the legal nudge. Turns out, dodging accountability isn’t as easy as dodging a meeting.

Subpoenas and Stonewalling Heat Up

The broader scope of this investigation isn’t just about personal anecdotes or one-off decisions. It’s about whether unauthorized executive actions took place under the guise of Biden’s supposed oversight, or lack thereof. The American people deserve to know if the ship was steering itself while the captain was below deck.

Comer’s team is framing this as a cover-up of cognitive decline, a charge that carries weight in an era where every presidential gaffe is dissected on social media. If aides were propping up a narrative of competency while privately managing a different reality, it’s not just deceptive—it’s a betrayal of public trust.

Let’s not forget the media’s role in amplifying these assurances of Biden’s sharpness, often without a shred of skepticism. If Comer’s allegations hold water, it’s a sobering lesson in why blind faith in any administration, left or right, is a risky bet.

Public Trust Hangs in the Balance

As this investigation unfolds, the testimony of these aides could either clear the air or ignite a firestorm of accountability. The question isn’t just about Biden’s health but about who wielded power behind closed doors.

That’s the kind of mystery that keeps taxpayers up at night. For now, the House Oversight Committee is playing hardball, and rightly so—transparency isn’t a courtesy, it’s a cornerstone of governance.

If these hearings reveal a pattern of deception, it’ll be a hard pill for even the most loyal defenders to swallow. Actions, as they say, have consequences, and the truth has a way of catching up.
