Donald Trump Reveals Reaction of Barron to Assassination Attempt

 October 8, 2024

We all know about the assassination attempt of Donald Trump. What we did not know, however, was how this impacted Barron.

During a recent Fox News interview, Trump offered some insight into just how devastating this event was for his family.

Talking Points…
- The assassination attempt against Trump
- Family reaction
- Analysis

The Trump Assassination Attempt

On July 13, 2024, a 20-year-old managed to access the grounds where Trump was having a rally later that day to survey the area for his assassination attempt against Trump. The shooter entered the grounds with a range finder, which set of metal detectors, yet authorities passed him through. He was spotted numerous times acting suspiciously, yet authorities never approached him, nor did they apprehend him.

That shooter then managed to climb a building with his weapon, and while being spotted by rally attendees, authorities did nothing. The shooter then managed to get off eight shots before a Secret Service Counter Sniper Team took the shooter out. Trump wound up being shot in the ear, one civilian was shot dead, and two more were injured in the assassination attempt.

There were so many breakdowns in protection that they are far too numerous to list here. What is clear, however, is that these were either untrained or unskilled agents, far from the agency's best. It appears, at least in my opinion, that someone in leadership decided to allow all this to play out rather than be proactive. At the very least, Trump never should have been allowed to take the stage. But he was, and we all saw how that played out.

Family Reaction to Shooting

According to Donald Trump, Barron found out about the assassination attempt while playing tennis with friends. Trump explained:

"Barron was playing tennis with his friends, and somebody walked over and ran over and said, 'Your father's been shot. He's been shot.' Barron really likes his father a lot… and he came in [saying], 'Mom, Mom, Mom, what happened?'

"Then they saw me get up, and then they saw the fist bump… it's very interesting. When I got up, people thought maybe he's dead."

I can tell you from personal experience that your heart drops if you get a message like that. I can empathize with the feelings that Barron must have been experiencing on that day because I had them at a similar age when I found out my father had passed away at work. Clearly, it was not an assassination attempt, but the realization of losing the man who was my hero was crushing. Thankfully, Barron has not yet had to deal with that reality.

Trump went on to describe what happened at the hospital after he was taken in, explaining:

"The hospital was great, and I didn't realize this — when a president goes to an area, they close the hospital in its entirety, it's ready for exactly this. I didn't know they did. I got there, doctors and nurses were outside, and no people. They literally close it, almost like they expect this.

"It's… genius, but who would ever think that? And I was so impressed."

Analysis

Sadly, this was only the first time that someone tried to assassinate Trump, as a second attempt was made just two months later. I know people despise Donald Trump, but people often forget there is a family behind the man and a young boy who are impacted just as much, if not more, by the things that are said about and done to Donald Trump.

I have never given Trump a free pass, as he does his fair share of spitting venom, but let's not forget that Democrats have been coming after him from the day he came down that escalator, and that effort was put on steroids when they realized that Trump would become the nominee. An outsider was about to take over DC, and they would not stand for it. This is and has always been about power. Trump's initial presidency was not only about Democrats giving up power but about the establishment losing its grip overall. And that is what truly has DC panicked about Trump winning again.
