For weeks, mysterious drone sightings have stirred unrest across New Jersey.
Federal probes into the drone sightings in New Jersey have not yet pinpointed their origins as of mid-December 2024, Fox News reported.
Concern has escalated among residents, with some claiming they will take action themselves if the government remains silent on the matter. Maps indicating drone density have pinpointed Monmouth County as a hot spot.
Laura Ballman, a former CIA Operations officer, voiced her theories on "Fox News Live." She suggested that these drones could be part of a classified U.S. government test on new technology.
According to Ballman, these operations might focus on either evasion or detection mechanisms in urban settings.
Laura Ballman said, "Deducing the statements from John Kirby that these drones are not operating illegally, coupled with several op-eds about the need to look at our detection systems, makes me think perhaps this is actually a classified exercise to test either evasion technology or detection technology in urban areas."
Senior officials from the FBI, FAA, NSC, DHS, and DOD have recently discussed the drone sightings without providing substantial answers, maintaining a tight-lipped stance on their origins.
An FBI official addressed the public's reaction during a call with reporters, suggesting that the response might be exaggerated.
From the outset of the drone reports over 20 days ago, the Pentagon has not confirmed any details about the origin of the drones. The lack of information has only fueled public speculation and concern.
Homeowners in New Jersey have voiced their unease, threatening to intervene if no governmental action is taken.
Despite over 5,000 tips, the FBI stated fewer than 100 warranted further scrutiny, with no evidence of large-scale drone activity. A DHS official acknowledged some reports remain credible but suggested the actual drone activity might be overestimated.
New Jersey Assemblyman Paul Kanitra heightened public concern by photographing multiple drones on December 13, 2024.
Laura Ballman stated, "I would be 'shocked' if it were related to the CIA, as it is 'not their mandate to operate in the United States.'"
U.S. national security officials have described the public’s reaction to the drone sightings as somewhat of an overreaction. However, the continuous sightings without clear explanations do little to quell public concerns.
Laura Ballman expressed her frustrations about the lack of governmental transparency. She said, "I am 'troubled' by why the U.S. government has not been forthcoming with information regarding the drones."
The mysterious drone activity in New Jersey has continued to intrigue and unsettle the public as federal investigations persist without clear results. Residents remain on alert while speculation about the purpose and origin of the drones continues to circulate. The increasing public pressure might prompt more definitive answers or further action from those affected.
