Bill and Hillary Clinton Arrange Exclusive Fundraiser for President Biden in Virginia

 May 28, 2024

In a significant move to boost campaign finances, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are gearing up to host a prestigious fundraising dinner for President Joe Biden.

This event, a key part of a larger series aimed at rallying financial support for Biden's 2024 Presidential campaign, will take place in Virginia next month, Fox News reported.

The fundraising dinner set for June 18 will be hosted in Virginia by the former Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe. It is one of several high-profile fundraisers orchestrated to strengthen President Biden’s financial base for the upcoming election. Notably, the following event will include a lineup of prominent Democratic figures in Los Angeles.

Fundraising Powerhouses Gather to Boost Biden's Campaign

Actor George Clooney will host another notable event in Los Angeles featuring President Joe Biden, President Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton. These gatherings highlight the strategic use of influential figures to galvanize financial and public support.

Historically, this approach has proven fruitful. A recent event in New York raised an impressive $26 million in just one evening, showcasing the potent financial pull of such high-profile gatherings.

Despite President Biden leading the overall fundraising tally over former President Donald Trump earlier this year, Trump managed a robust comeback, amassing $76 million in April 2024. This was more than the $51 million raised by Biden in the same period. However, the Biden campaign maintains a larger cash reserve, tallying up to $192 million.

Trump Responds with Strong Fundraising Efforts

Donald Trump’s notable fundraising event, hosted at billionaire John Paulson’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida, contributed predominantly to his April successes, pulling in a staggering $50.5 million. Trump’s campaign highlighted that half of their April funds came from small-dollar donors, indicating a mobilized and engaged grassroots supporter base.

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign has remained buoyant due to substantial small-dollar contributions and the addition of one million supporters to their email list in April. This signifies a broadening base of support as the election draws near.

From the Biden campaign, representatives asserted that grassroots donors largely powered the large-scale support in April. Adding a million new supporters to their communication channels underscores the growing enthusiasm around Biden's candidacy, which may intensify this momentum. The Biden campaign said: "... a majority of April's raise came from grassroots donors, and one million more supporters were added to our email tips list in the month alone."

On the other end, Trump's senior advisors, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, emphasized the passionate support from their base, with significant contributions stemming from smaller donations. They expressed strong optimism about Trump's potential in the upcoming election.

Rival Campaigns Exhibit Strong Grassroots Support

The Trump campaign underscored its grassroots success, with a significant portion of its April funds originating from smaller individual donations. This shows a fervent support base mobilized for the former President's return bids.

In response, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles from the Trump campaign shared their strategic insights:

We are raising the resources necessary to deliver a victory in November. With half of funds raised coming from small dollar donors, it is clear that our base is energized.

In summary, the upcoming high-profile fundraisers by prominent Democratic figures reflect a strategic push to fortify President Biden’s financial resources and widen his supporter base as the 2024 Presidential election approaches. These efforts juxtapose with President Trump’s significant fundraising achievements, prominently supported by grassroots donations, signaling potentially fierce competition in the race for the White House.
