Chuck Lorre used a Los Angeles charity award speech to hope President Trump dies and brand First Lady Melania an escort, and the crowd cheered.
Breitbart News reported that the CBS producer and Big Bang Theory creator unloaded on President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump while accepting an award for his financial support of Project Angel Food.
The remarks came at the group’s gala in Los Angeles last week. Lorre framed the insults as the price of working in comedy, then delivered them anyway. At least one line drew cheers.
NewsBusters flagged the speech on Wednesday. It was not Lorre’s first public blast at Trump.
Lorre told the room he would rather have thanked the people who keep Project Angel Food running. He called the charity “an oasis for those in need.” Then he pivoted.
He said the “burden” of his job required a different speech.
Lorre said:
“The burden of my profession demands that I take this opportunity to say a few words about that bloated orange piece of s*** in the White House.”
After the reaction, he added, “Okay, I do have the right audience.”
He kept going. He said he would prefer gratitude and a donation pitch. Instead, he described a daily routine built around waiting for bad news about the president.
Lorre said:
“I’d love to express my gratitude to all the people who’ve devoted their lives to making Project Angel Food an oasis for those in need. That would be my preference. But because I’m a comedy writer, I have no choice but to explain how I wake up every morning, turn on CNN to see if the President of the United States had a heart attack while straining to take a dump.”
Lorre then turned on the First Lady. He set Melania Trump against Michelle Obama and reached for the cheapest contrast in the Hollywood playbook.
Lorre said:
“I’d love to encourage you to pull out your wallets and contribute to this amazing organization, but my need to cause laughter forces me to question how a country can embrace a smart, educated, warm, funny First Lady like Michelle Obama then somehow be okay with a surgically enhanced, cold-hearted Yugoslavian escort who clearly hates her husband.”
No evidence, no policy argument, no record. Just a personal smear of a sitting First Lady at a fundraiser that markets itself as compassion work.
He closed by rewriting a familiar prayer into another attack line, folding in a claim about Russia and Jeffrey Epstein.
Lorre said:
“God, grant me the serenity to no longer give a s*** about all the stupid people in this country. The courage to say Donald Trump is a Russian asset who traded teenagers with Jeffrey Epstein, and the wisdom to end on a cheap laugh. Thank you very much.”
Breitbart News noted the gala tirade fits a longer pattern. In 2019, the outlet reported Lorre’s earlier claims that Trump might have syphilis or birth-related brain damage.
That same period included a message, cited from the prior October in the 2019 report, in which Lorre called the president “a fascist, hate-filled, fear-mongering, demagogic, truth-shattering, autocratic golf cheater.” He also talked about wanting “a little Old Testament wrath” used against him.
Years later, the venue changed. The target did not. A charity stage became the latest microphone for the same contempt.
Project Angel Food exists to help people in need. Lorre used its award moment to hope for a president’s heart attack, degrade the First Lady as an “escort,” and fish for laughs from a crowd ready to give them.
When elite donors treat a gala like an open-mic night against the president and First Lady, they show what they value more than the cause on the program.
